Thanks.

Years ago, my grandmother gave a friend a bouquet of flowers.
As a thank you, the friend drew the flowers on a card base to express her thanks.
It was a sweet exchange I have long remembered!

This is for a SCS challenge today...
I also used bling from Eyelet Outlet..and of Mini Glue Dots ® and Pop Up Relief Glue Dots ®.

Proud to serve others...always.

Today was a day of service. And after being on the receiving end a few months ago, I was so grateful to be at the giving end. Today's SCS F4A279 challenge was to honor Canada (July 1) or the USA (July 4). Well, I figured, today I'd be on Team Canda...even though I will really only ever be Team USA. But Canada is my neighbor, eh?

I did sneak some pale blue/grey watercolor for that shadow...hehe.

I used Mini Glue Dots ® to adhere the copper sequins.
These stamps are from Paper Makeup Stamps, as well as Mark's Finest Papers.

Headliner

Jute string...

Don't just use 3 Girl JAM jute string to make a bow or tie together some candies...

Let it stand out and be the statement on your card by pairing it with a punny sentiment and a unique brad/embellishment. This scissors brad can be found at the Eyelet Outlet.

I love this Orange Jute String against the blue/green paper.
It's bound to bring a smile to a friend's face!
Use Mini Glue Dots ® to hold down your bow and to keep the string tucked into the scissors.
I used a Craft Glue Dot  ® near the bottom.  It holds the spiraled end nicely!

For more ideas using 3 Girl JAM products,
please unravel on over to the 3 Girl JAM blog.

Bold Statement!

Let Rumple Ribbon from Lovebug Creations
be the focal point on your card
by creating a large rumple bow!

Using two very different colors makes a bold statement.
Use similar colors to make a softer statement.

A fun, flirty, fabulous focal point!
Now, that makes ME happy!!

Thanks for stopping by today.
Be sure to check out the Mama's Mesh
and Beautiful Blooms today too!

After that, check out some more of the fantastic inspiration from the creative team
at Lovebug Creations!

Time...

It's time again to remember those brave soldiers...
Men and women who gave their all to their country.

Rows of large pearl bling are a nice backdrop for the Simply Red and Ocean View Rumple Ribbon
from Lovebug Creations.  The Pocket Watch Brad and Bling Strips are from The Eyelet Outlet.
Don't you love this new larger size of bling!  I used a Pop Up Glue Dot ® to adhere the flourish of color on this card base.

Stamps: Mark's Finest Papers

I hope you take time from picnics, bbqs, and working around the yard
to give thought and thanks to those who helped to make it all possible!
Be sure to play along with us at the Lovebug Lounge on FB.

Box Flowers

Using a Box Flower tutorial, I created poppies
out of Simple Red Mama's Mesh from Lovebug Creations!

Very simply..
cut out four circles. (I used a die.)
Fold each circle in half and arrange them as you might fold down four box flaps.
I used red thread and put in a few stitches to secure my flower together.
Then, I sewed on a sunny yellow button!

The Green Leaves rumple ribbon was attached using Glue Dots...and I love the look
of the rumply leaves!  Poppy leaves are sort of jaggety!

Don't you just LOVE poppies?
I do!

Remember, this month, we want to see what kinds of flowers you can make using ribbons
and mesh from the Lovebug Creation's site!

Thanks for remembering us today!
Remember what comes this weekend...

Glitter Swirl August

This month, Glitter Swirl, in all its shades, is 20% off at The Robin's Nest.  As I was starting my cards, my friend  admiringly said "This paper speaks for itself."  So..with that, I kept the cards simple so you, too, could admire the glitz swirl of Glitter Swirl Cardstock!

I used Simply Red Rumple Ribbon from Lovebug Creations.
The rose gives it a bit of a vintage feel.

Cut your Swirl paper to 10.5 x 3.75 inches.
Score in half.
Cut plain black card stock to 5.5 x 4 inches.
Mount your base on the black card stock.

I used Craft Glue Dots © to create this belly band around the entire card.
Use more Glue Dots © to add the embellies and tag.
But use Removable Glue Dots © to secure the band to the front of the card.
This way, it will stay in place, yet still be easily removable
when it is time to open the card and read its contents.

For my second card, I used Black Glitter Swirl on White.
The embellishments are silver on this more contemporary looking card.

Which do you prefer?
Vintage Red and gold...
or Contemporary Blue and silver?

But wait...There are at least ten swirl patterns to choose from.
Be sure to add some to your next purchase from The Robin's Nest!

Let me know what your favorite is!!

4.15.2013

Cute!

Super quick and super cute.
The sentiment is from an older Mark's Finest Papers set:  Sew What?
Tip:  For heavier embellishments, use Craft styled Glue Dots ©.
These dots have a lot of strength!  As they are a bit bigger, so they cover your embellies well.

On the Mend...

This week, we want to see those cards that will help others who are "on the mend!"  Along with several digi companies, the Party Time Planners have been super excited to embellish with plenty of ZVA Creative flowers and rhinestones!  Be sure to check out all the sponsors of this week's good bags HERE.  Link your "Get Well Soon" card and post your Party Time Tuesdays Party Badge...and you just might get a fabulous goodie bag!
