Good Luck!

If you have any luck up your sleeves, it's time to show it on paper with Inky Impressions' Challenge this week.

\

I don't know if the Inky Impressions charms bring good luck, but they will bring a lot of pizazz to your cards and projects.  Great quality...and fun selection!  Angelica is on a green card base cut from The Cutting Cafe's "Assorted Card Folds."  Enliven your designs with these fun shapes!

Today is my last day as a Guest Inkette!  I have enjoyed playing the challenges and working with the Inky Rubber images.  Thanks, Inky Impressions!

Happy Leap Day!!

I'd rather be...

There is always something else we want to do instead of housework. But here is a darling, "green" project with Lili to help your kids help you keep the house neat and tidy!

I had a small jelly jar, which I cleaned out and peeled off the label. It's small enough to pile in popcicle stickes (new, not recycled this time).  On each stick, write down a different chore.  When my kids were really young, I simply had them use clorox wipes on phones, handles and light switches. It was a great way to introduce them to helping and work. Now, their main daily chores are: putting away dishes and setting the table, sweeping the floors, and taking out the garbage and recycling bins.  (That just gives me more craft time!)

Use your Inky Impressions rubber stamps and dinky drops, along with a recycled jar and ribbons,  to create a pretty chore jar.  As Mary Poppins says, "A spoon full of sugar helps the medicine go down!" Just one more "green" tip... To stretch your sentiments, try cropping them! I used tape to mask off the word "stamping" before inking up my stamp.  Then, peel back the tape and stamp your cropped sentiment.

Punches and dies...Oh My!

Today's Inky Impressions Challenge is to use Punches and Dies.  Here I have punched a border, and used nesties to create a medallion for Angelica to sit in.  This mod card is sure to be a hit!  Now, let's see what fabulous ideas you can punch out of paper this week! Fuzzy Wuzzy

With Valentine's Day just around the corner, here is a simple card that will pack a POW! to your valentine.

These snowflakes (Stick Together from There She Goes) are stamped in purple. That really gives interest against the CAS white.  I cut this card base out using Assorted Heart Cards from The Cutting Cafe.  Both are a perfect base for Rachel and sentiment from Inky Impressions.  I've never been a fan of fibers. But this fuzzy wuzzy stuff  is perfect for the rhyme!

Mark your place...

with a fun book mark!  I used ......from There She Goes to create a winter background for Rachel from Inky Impressions.  Some fuzzy fibers set off the sentiment as well! I know that this will come in handy with all the books I have to read for Battle of the Books in the next few weeks!

Cropping Digis

At first, I was not a fan of digis. But when things change, we have to adapt.  While you obviously know that digis can be resized, you can also crop them and create so many new ideas!

Here I used Inky Impressions' Cupcake and Candy Factory.  I opened it into photoshop and cropped the candies out.  Be inspired...I can't wait to see how you crop your Inky Digis!  The sentiment is from Mark's Finest Papers, as well as that fabulous ribbon!

Anything Goes...

with Inky Impressions.  I was invited to stay on as a designer at the start of 2012.  I know all you card makers enjoy these "Anything Goes" weeks.

Photobucket

Here I used a Inky digi and highlighted the skiing portion. Next, I created my own word art from a quote I found from Dave Barry.  It reads:  Skiing combines outdoor fun with knocking down trees with your face.  haha. Yep...that probably would be me on skis!  There are so many great things you can do with the computer and images and text.  Be sure to link up your "Anything Goes" entries on the Inky Impressions Challenge blog.  Be sure to keep your eye on the Inky Impressions Inspiration blog for more fabulous things I can do with digis!!

A Card for your Gift Card

When you put your gift card into a darling card, you are sure to make an impression!  This Inky Impressions' Elf is a jocular fellow!

Here I created a triangle flap fold for a gift card.
If you want a quick tutorial, I have one posted HERE.

On the inside, I added a strip to hold the card.  Be sure not to adhere it to the right side until after you make your angled cuts.

Warm Winter Wishes

There are all sorts of shapes and sizes for easel cards.  Here I have used the Wonky Squares nestie for my canvas.

To secure this card in the open position, I have used Inky Impressions's rhinestone brads.  This way, You have more room to write a note!

Sparkly Thanks!

This week's Inky Impression's challenge:  THANK YOU CARDS!

A new sort of easel!

The other day, I came across this tree shaped easel card and I just knew I had to try it with Inky Impressions' elf stamps.  (Of course, 2 days ago, Splitcoast got the jump on me when they posted the tutorial on their site. haha.  But I did have it mostly completed by that time.  Great ideas travel fast with the age of the internet!)

Although I don't have a picture to better illustrate, this card is made from three 6 inch squares.  The last flap is secured with a velcro dot. When undone, this tree lies flat...aside from any embellishments you add.  With three sides, you have a lot of canvas to decorate!

I"m very happy to be a guest designer for Inky Impressions for the next two months.  New images are always such a delight to stamp, color and design with!  Don't you just love the elves in the new release!  I sure did!  Inky has really sweet images and very detailed line drawings.  Oh...but don't miss their embellishment lines.  I was super pleased to find some charms and Inky Dinky Drops and rhinestone brads in my welcome package!!  (Keep an eye out for them on up coming cards and projects!)

I've been stamping for seven years this month!  Many months after my grandmother passed away, my grandfather told me to go through her craft closet and take what I liked. I ended up taking some embossing powders, her embossing heat tool, a few loose stamps...along with other crafty goodies. It wasn't very long after I returned home and started playing with these new toys that I knew I needed more.   More stamps, more ink, more paper, more time!   A friend of mine helped me get started. Within a few weeks, I learned about Splitcoaststampers....and their daily challenges. The rest is history!
