Some of My Favorite Things

To find the Lovebug Creations Hop,

I'm super excited to be extending my time as
a Glue Dot ® Dottess for the 2013/2014 term.

While Fall is typically my least favorite season,
I can always make it more enjoyable with home decor projects
using Glue Dots ®.  My favorite type of Glue Dots ® are:

Pop Up....
Which are great for adding more dimension to handmade greeting cards or popping up
buttons and ribbons and larger embellishments on home decor.
  and

Micro...
Which I use all the time when my rhinestones, pearl halves,
and small pieces of bling that lose their stickiness!

(My third favorite would have to be Craft Glue Dots ®.
I sure have a lot of favorites!)  Craft style Glue Dots ® are strong
and are great for adding buttons or felt/fabric, ribbon!)

But then again, Glue Dots ®, of every size in between, work great for my projects too!
I love to make home decor, greeting cards, or gifts with a specific person in mind.
That way, I know their likes, color choices, etc, etc.
Giving a handmade item to a friend is sure to make them smile!

Here are a couple of favorite, past projects I created with fall in mind.

Turn a simple dollar store frame into a work of art with Glue Dots ®,
Robin's Nest Dew Drops, and other embellishments to match the season or your decor.
The Dew Drops are stuck on top of the glass.  The patterned paper is underneath the glass.

I was delighted when I took this out of the Fall Decor bins.
Stored for a year...and all the adhesive held up!
It's one that will be displayed through Thanksgiving.

A more recent fall craft:
tinted mason jar...

Currently, this is also being displayed in my home...filled with candy from
the Homecoming Parade last week!  Raffia is a great embellishment
for the autumn season.  It's easy to work with, emits the feel of fall,
a package can last for a long time,
and it's inexpensive!

After tinting this mason jar with mod podge and food coloring (go figure!), I embellished the rim using Craft Glue Dots ®.  Then I topped it off with a frilly Rumple Ribbon bow from Lovebug Creations (favorite ribbon) and a sweet apple brad from the Eyelet Outlet (another favorite company)!

Other things I favor...
Serving Others.
Running Happy.
Being Helpful.
Making (and eating) Treats.

Here is a muffin recipe that I only make during the fall.
Don't be put off by the name.
Honestly, this is a delicious treat..easy to make...great for a snack or breakfast.
With the ingredients of Pumpkin and Apple, it's got to be healthy, right?

Pumpkin Apple Strudel Muffin

Preheat oven to 350 degress. Lightly grease 18 muffin cups or use paper liners.
(I get more like 20-22 muffins out of this recipe.)
In a large bowl, sift together:
2 1/2 cups flour
2 cups white sugar
1 T pumpkin pie spice
1 t baking soda
1/2 t salt
In a separate bowl, mix:
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1 cup canned pumpkin puree
1/2 cup vegetable oil
Add this pumpkin mixture to the flour mixture and stir until just moistened. Fold in 2 cups peeled, cored and chopped apples. Spoon batter into prepared muffin cups.

In a small bowl, mix together:
2 T flour
1/4 cup white sugar
1/2 t cinnamon.
Cut in 4 T butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle topping evenly over muffin batter.

Bake in preheated oven for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into a muffin comes out clean.

(Pix tomorrow!)
