Inbetween cards

So, long time, no card...

but seriously, I am busy...

With life, with volunteering, with taking care of others.  I don't write about all that service b/c it is something that I know that I need to do.  Even if sometimes I don't really want to, I still help out where ever and whenever I can.  Last week, I made up 30 Thank You gifts for my sons' Blue and Gold Banquet. I've babysat for 10+ hours a 3 month old while his mother was at that hospital with his sister who was having surgery.  I have visited ladies at church. Tended to kids and babies at church so parents can teach or tend to someone else.  I've attend several meetings where, as a volunteer, I plan, coordinate, and execute activities.  I've also got my hands in the pot in several online stamping communities which run on volunteerism.  I do service at church continually.  I have driven my kids to and from their extra-curricular activities..Scouts, Girl Scouts, Activity Days, 6th grade evaluations, play practice, friends' homes, birthday parties, swimming, etc.

I have been sick while I take care of sick family members, gone grocery shopping, did the ongoing laundry, made breakfast, lunches and dinners, baked cookies (and yes, I am no longer abstaining from chocolate chip cookies), cleaned bathrooms, helped kids with homework, book reports and science fair projects. Yes, that was a little bit of one week in this life of mine.

And yes, I'm a stamper. But stamping comes after (or squeezed in between) my real life activities. A busy life of helping others.  I know some people blog about everything they do. I guess I mostly just blog about my stamping.  So, if you think I'm that shallow, here is your post to know that I have a very full life.   I do not stamp all day long.    You only see the paper side of it.

Thanks for sharing...I sometimes wonder if people think that all I do is stamp all day...I wish! I understand that our blogs are just a snippet of our real lives...but what a fun snippet they are! Take a moment to stamp something!

you are busy doing good and even your stamping helps other whether you blog about it or give your cards away. I agree with Jocelyn-you are awesome!

I think you are an awesome person for all that you do...no need to tell us, but I understand how sometimes a need is felt. We are humans with more than one thing to do. You are truly a Proverbs 31 Woman if I have ever known one. You are a great person and we will wait for the next post when you get some "free" time - {{HUGS}}

Shallow? Holy cow! You are definitely one busy woman! I'm amazed you have time to make as many cards (and post them) as you do! You rock, Dawn!

You know I think you're amazing! And it doesn't surprise me one bit to read all the helpful things you've been busy doing this week. My time has not been "my own" this week either, and that's okay.

Glad to see Dawn that your resolutions get broken too!
I bet you could make chocolate chip cookies with your eyes closed.
I believe that you are a woman, a woman who loves her family and also believes that the role she plays in her community is important too.
Women not only multi-task continually but we usually do it so well, with a smile on our faces too!
Each of us crafts under different circumstances. Each of us blogs in different ways.I know that when I was facing a pretty serious situation with my husband's health very recently, I could not put up a post, I could not pretend that all was well in Creative Land because it wasn't. I was terrified!

I empathise with you re-caring for family who are ill as I nursed my invalid mother with no extra care until towards the end for many years. I hear what you say as I remember that Les & I did not have a holiday together for over 6 years.

In all that you describe there is a shining love that comes through. You model for your children, you model for your family and community but don't forget that there is a lovely lady called Dawn who also deserves downtime and fun times, even if sometimes it is just a brisk walk around the block.

A caring parent once gave me a small plaque that said "No one notices what I do until I don't do it" and how true that is.

I look forward to seeing what you do, one blog at a time or one stamp at a time as the case may be.

Sending you a big Aussie Cyber hug. Here it comes.

Hi Dawn,
My original comment appears to have disappeared into Cyber Space.
What a huge list of tasks you do - makes my head dizzy thinking of it.
You share your self very wide and sometimes this can feel stressful.
Hey, stamping all day? Now that would be boring!
Take care of Dawn too!

You are not shallow! I am amazed you can fit in card making with everything else going on in your life! Ignore the silly, petty people that think you don't do anything else but make cards all day. They aren't worth the time or energy!
