I used to love to take naps.
As a teenager, in college, on Sundays...during the week, when my own babies were napping...or when they were watching Blue's Clues and the Wonder Pets and sitting in the "nest" of my legs...or even when they were off at school and it was rainy and I was bored, or sad....
Naps were great.
And now, I'm old. And...I really can't take naps any more. Maybe it is all this exercise? Actually it started before I started shaping up. If I nap during the day, I don't sleep at night. It's terrible...on so many levels.
But today...er, yesterday afternoon, I had to sleep. I was exhausted. I was nursing a 3 day headache...and tired. And unmotivated.
So...now...2:06 am...I'm still awake. Bored...and very awake.
But the nap was pretty good... aside from a few kids popping in to ask permission to play on the computer or to go to a friend's home. And soon enough I"ll probably be REALLY old...and taking cat naps throughout the day and night. But hopefully that won't be for another 20 years or so.
If my knees hold up that long!

short naps can refresh you while longer naps steal your night time slumber...lol!
I have to be very careful with naps too. Sleep in the afternoon, and yep!! I'm up all night. But sometimes, one needs to just let it go and nap. And I'll have no problems sleeping that night. I think I wear my body down to exhaustion and BAM!! Nap to the rescue!!
You poor thing, I do hope your headache has gone by now, I do not do naps at all, I work second shift, in bed by 2 am and wake when my body wants too :)
It's funny how our bodies change, isn't it? I have to be careful with naps too. And I was always an early to bed, early to rise person, but now I'm up late a lot b/c I'm just getting a second wind at 9pm for some reason these days.
Too bad I didn't realize you were awake! I took a long nap yesterday after beach time, and woke up in the wee hours too!
I love naps too! Since I started this diet, I don't think I've needed one because my sugar levels are more stable, but still...I love them.
and, we call that the "birdie nest" too...I thought I was being unique LOL
