Name that Toon

Welcome to the Hambo Hop celebrating...Toons!

Welcome to "Name That Toon!" sponsored by Hambo Stamps! Today Hambo friends and the Bacon Bits Design Team are bringing you a dozen fun creations that depict comic strips! It might be our favorite, or just one that was fun to design. If you arrived here from  Deborah  you are in the right place! If not, you might want to start back at the beginning at the Hambo blog to make sure you are eligible for the hopper prize!

A prize will be awarded to one participant whose comic strip-themed creation tickles the Bacon Bits’ fancy in a hammin’ jammin’ way!  Another prize will be awarded randomly to a hopper who comments on all of the blogs along the way. The winners will be announced on the Hambo company blog, Talk to the Ham, on Wednesday, January 23, as well as at the Hambo Hoedown challenge blogWe love comments anytime, but the deadline for prize entry comments is Sunday, January 26 at 5 PM CST. Don't miss it!

My creation.... Er..should I say my second creation. haha. I sort of drifted from the original theme when I created my first card!  So...I got to use the fun Hambo stamps again to create one with the proper theme!  More stamp chores....yeah!  haha

My favorite comic strip...or square (and hmmm...should have made this into a square card!)...is THE FAR SIDE by Gary Larson.  I dug out a book from my teenage years and got a few belly laughs over the scenes that this clever artist created.  Here is my hommage to Mr. Larson.  Who wouldn't remember the Punk-Porcupines, Be-speckled and Personified animals, and "Oh so many creepy crawlies and talking bugs" that were posted each week in the newspaper comics!  (And now, my kids have youtube. They don't even know what they are missing!)

Stamps Used:
Tutu-ly Fun

And yes, I dug out the scraps from my favorite paper pack of last summer to create that summery card!
That qualifies this card for the Hambo Hoedown Challenge this week to: Use Left Overs!
Love orange, do you?

Oh...I just found out that my cartoons were once drawn the comic strip style...back in the 1950s! haha...so here's my original card:

Stamps:

I used Glue Dots © PopUps to get these toons propped up and popped up!
Don't worry...this is not the end of the blog hop...

Now laugh on over to Jan's blog for another great Comic Strip that will tickle your fancy!

Nice choice of stamps for the comic creation! The Far side always makes me laugh!

What a fun "Far Side" cast of characters! I love that Larson didn't just draw a kangaroo -- he'd give it a purse and earrings too.

And a cool take on the Looney Tunes too! So fun!

Dawn they are both cute! It is funny that you interpreted it that way, because when I was coming up with my idea, I would ask people their favorite comic strip and they all mentioned a cartoon - Newspaper just isn't the same as it used to be. We don't even think about it the same I think... I love all your little guys you did a great job!!
