What have I been stamping lately?

Well, I certainly haven't been doing the daily SCS cahllenges. Several of my fellow stamping bloggers are asking for cards for the US troops. I don't know of anyone personally who is serving our country. But being patriotic, I was glad for an opportunity to brighten their day. (Plus, such a great excuse to stamp!)

I started making these trifold cards.

Then, I realized, that someone is going to have to buy a lot of envelopes. So I changed my design to what you see below. They fit in a regular lettter envie. The card stock is 6 x 6.5 and scored in half on the longer side. Here are the designs:

When designing the cards, I thought about the types of people who would receive these cards. Sons and daughters, girlfriends and wives (or boyfriends and husbands)...friends and family. Since there would be a wide variety, I tried making cards that would suit different ages and genders and occasions. Above all, I hope that the soldiers and their loved ones find some comfort in the words that they write and read from each other on these cards. I know it is't much. But us card lovers know the joy of receiving and sending cards.

Oooh such nice cards. I'm going to try to make some time to do this-- where are you sending these?

Also, I like how you kept the cards classically pretty. I think everyone would be happy to receive one of those cards!!
