Baby New Year

Isn't this the cutest New Year's card ever!!

These Babies from Starving Artistamps are so versitile!

In the detail shot, you can see that I outlined the computer generated sentiment with a silver sharpie to match the silver CS mat behind Baby New Year. Awwww! I think I finally found a stamp I would use for New Year Cards! The snowflakes are also from Starving Artistamps...and are embossed with Kalidescope EP for a wintery shimmer. (I live in MI of course!)

DRS Color Challenge #19

This week's DRS challenge is a color combo of: Summer Sun, Pink Passion and Chocolate Chip. Wow! What a daring combo! Here is my take on it.

This tag card is perfect for a little boy going to a little girl's birthday party. The tag slides out for the sender to write a greeting. The boy stamp originally looked like this:

(E508 DRS Designs)

After I embossed the image, I carefully cut him out. Isn't he adorable sitting on the horizontal layer?

Askewed

So, I am a crafter who tends to lines things up, makes things even, evens things up. But today, as I was adhering the knotted ribbon onto the front panel, I noticed something. Where the paper had randomly lain, it looked quite nice at an askewed angle. (Ok, I don't know if askewed is a word. haha)

So there you go. "A Happy Accident" as my Art 111 Professor would say! I created this card for the Corrosive Blog Challenge #8. The sentiment is from Paper Makeup Stamps. They actually have a swirly cool tree. But we can't have ever stamp, now, can we! So make do. And the tree from SU's Seasons of Friendship is awesome! So glad it's in my collection.

Now...I'm off to pack up the car for Brownies. What a meeting we'll be having. In the mean time...Have a Happy Earth Day.

EDITED: Okay, I know words, I just can't spell them! haha Thanks Anita for gently correcting me. I got out the dictionary. So "ascrew" is just a mispelled word! See, I learned something new today!!

SADF Strikes again

With no soccer practices to go to, I got in some stamp time. It's so fun to get new stamps inky!!

Ever have a day like this one? The diaper was paper pieced. Gotta love those square rhinestones!

For the expectant mother...
The sentiment and pink layers were stamped and then smashed into a versamark pad. Sprinkled with Kalidescope EP...and embossed. Result: Shimmery and shiny for the Mother to Be!

Mission: SCS Sketch Challenge. Means: Starving Artistamps.. Colors: Bold and Fabulous. Execution: Annoying rectangles to measure out. Synopsis: Fantastic card for any Super Mom!

Detail. I cut out Super Mom's face and propped it up on dimensionals. Better for her to give you a motherly look...YOU know the one!

WOWEE!!!

JUST WAIT UNTIL YOU SEE THE MAY RELEASE FOR PMS STAMPS!!!!

YES I'M SHOUTING! HAHA.

They are delightfully wonderful. And now, I don't know how I'm going to settle down to stamp another couple of Doodlefactory Cards! Boy, stamping can be really fun! Or is that just the thrill of new stuff?

DRS Birthday Wishes and Hot Dog Cheers

This card was made using stamps from DRS Designs. They have some delightful kid characters.

This photograph doesn't pick up the irridescent spiral background that was stamped on the black. In real life, it's shimmery and full of fun! Way to go! Fun and food...all on one card. What could be better?

I have a few more cards that will have to wait for later...sneak peeks!

New Arrivals...

Fresh from StarvingArtistamps' Doodlefactory line!

I finally got some stamp time in. New rubber does not want to sit around on the craft table, dry and uninked! This afternoon, after a lunch date with Ken, I whipped up these funtastic cards.

I love this cute baby quilt-like card!

Detail...and I'm going to get my techie mother to fit it since I can not! Check back later if you do not want to strain your neck.

The items are stamped on decorative papers...ooh lala...what textures!

This card I designed for my BIL Hank. But he'll have to wait for me to make a 2nd one since this is going to be sent in to Starving Artistamps. Sorry Hank!

Good News!

It's rainy, cold and dreary.

And yes, the soccer fields are closed for the 3rd week in a row! haha

I'm glad. I don't want to practice in the rain. And yes, I LOVE being able to announce silly things to the masses. Hence the "Amusing Musings" title.

Guess I can't change it now!

A life lesson learned from Dog Food...

Saturday afternoon I was sitting on the balcony when my DD came up to me and retold a story that had happened the night before. Apparently, her little brother said to the big brother, "Hey, if you eat this dog food, I"ll give you my Bakugan." Of course Big brother is dying to get a collection of these silly toys which I have said, "No you are not buying them." (Though I consented when Granny and Papa bought each of them one. But we aren't sticking any more money into them!) So of course, DD said Big brother ate it, and Little Brother wouldn't give up the toy.

I went to Big Brother to hear the story. And it matched up. First he licked it and said that it "counted." Little brother said, "no." So Big Brother ate the dog food. (BTW, it was a small, small dog pellet.) So when Little Brother came home, he was told that the Bakugan was going to be given to the Big Brother.

Of course we had the lecture about promises and what it means to make a promise and how you have to go through with what you promised. That God gave us promises that we can rely on. Mom and Dad make promises. What happens when promises aren't met, etc, etc.

It was a hard lesson to learn since Little Brother only had one of these cherished Bakugans.

So last night, Little Brother (age five) said the prayer before dinner. In it he thanked Heavenly Father for promises and asked for help to keep those promises to others.

AWWWWW...He got it! At least yesterday, Little brother understood the importance of a Promise.

Next life lesson that Big Brother is going to learn...

"We all make mistakes. So if your little brother "dares" you do do soemthing, which is silly and dumb and he loses a toy for it, you can be the bigger person. Forgive him and give that toy back!"

I don't think he'll learn it as fast as the little one!

A Huggy Bear! This set from Paper Makeup Stamps is called Panda Hugs. The sentiment inside reads, "You Hug My Heart."

The new man in my life!

I bet some of my friends thought that it was Niko...my parents' dog who is staying here for a short week. And well, that is true. But there is a stamping man in my life.

From time to time, he has free digi downloads on his blog. I heard over at Paper Make Up stamps that he is designing some stamps and I clicked over to check out the sneak peeks.

Meanwhile, I saw that some of the sneak peeks, which I happen to have from DRS, were his designs too! Wow wee! I'm the lucky stamper.

Now I need to get over to that site a little more often. Check him out if you like cutsie animals and creatures!

I have been stamping...just sneak peeks for DRS Designs. A rubber stamp company with delightful sentiments who has invited me to be a guest designer for May and June! So fun.

Now, I'll have to stamp some DRS that I can show on my blog!! Go check out their website. Did I mention the fabulous sentiments??

Sweet Craftin' Candy!

Sara, in her Stamping Sanctuary, has some candy for a giveaway. Again...probably too sweet for your taste. So, just ignore it...you're on a diet right? haha.

Corrosive Challenge Blog

Last night I checked the Corrosive Challenge Blog. Mission: a card with something Springy or Eastery on it. Well, I thought back to my very first House Mouse stamp with my big sis Lisa sent me a couple of weeks ago! Even though I used a HM image for last week's challenge, this bunny was so cuddly...he had to be inked up!

Love these challenge blogs!!
