Time to Set the Table

Welcome to this month's Joy's Life Blog Hop!
I hope you have come from Stacy's blog.
I'm not hosting Thanksgiving Dinner, but I do have a tablescape to share with you.
I like to change out my front hall table with season items.
That way, guests are greeted with holiday flare as soon as they walk into my home!

I cut twelve 6 inch circles to create this 3 D pumpkin.
Fold them in half and sponge the edges.
Slice the bottom of the circle a bit so your pumpkin can "sit."
Next, use Permanent Glue Dots ® to adhere them to form a sphere.
I used Removable Glue Dots ® to "close" my gourd. This way, I can fold it up and easily store it with my holiday decorations!

I used a bit of Rumple Ribbon in Goddess Green from Lovebug Creations to give my pumpkin some texture.  Also, a brown paper lunch bag was twisted up to form the stem.
I made a tag for Thanksgiving with Joy's Life: It's All Fall Puns.

I also made a tag for the month of Halloween!
Ooh, I love decorating for the holidays!
But not only that...I love eating/cooking during the holidays!  Years ago, I found this recipe in a jello ad. I made it...and now I made it each year for DH on Thanskgiving.

Festive Cranberry-Pineapple Salad

Ingredients:
1 can (20 oz.) Crushed Pineapple, undrained
2 pkg. (4-serving size) or
1 pkg. (8-serving size) cherry or raspberry flavor gelatin (I use raspberry.)
1 can (16 oz.) whole berry cranberry sauce
1 medium Fuji Apple, chopped
2/3 cup chopped walnuts

Directions
1.Drain pineapple, reserve juice. Remove 1 tbsp. crushed pineapple; set aside for garnish. In medium saucepan combine reserved juice with water to make 3 cups; heat to boiling. Add gelatin: stir at least 2 minutes until completely dissolved. Stir in cranberry sauce. Pour into large bowl. Refrigerate 1-1/2 hours or until slightly thickened (consistency of unbeaten egg whites).
2.Stir in remaining pineapple, apple and walnuts; stir gently until well blended. Pour into medium serving bowl.
3.Refrigerate 4 hours or until firm. Garnish with reserved crushed pineapple and additional apple slices just before serving. Store leftover gelatin in refrigerator.

On to go to visit Julie's table.
In case you get mixed up along the way,
here's the complete line up!

Love your pumpkin . . .what a GREAT addition it would make to a Thanksgiving table or even just as a fall decoration. Thanks for sharing and for the inspiration.
