Meeting a new friend

Today I got to have lunch with a stamper who lives fairly close by...and who is on two of the same design teams as I am.  This is the first time we met up. But boy did we have a ton of fun chittchattering away!  I sure hope we can meet up again, Andrea.  (I hope you weren't late for your big date! haha)

Here is the tote I made for her.

A fun new Spring Wristlet and some candy...and of course you've made a new friend! haha

All papers can be found at Paper Temptress..shimmery and textures in so many papers!  The stamp images/sentiment are from Paper Makeup.  Did you know that PMS will have an Inventory Sale in April! You won't want to miss it!

The card is 3 inches square.

Not so pleasurable...

I made this card late yesterday afternoon for the Connie's KSS Friday sketch challenge.  I liked how it turned out b/c originally, I wasn't grooving on the layout that was being challenged. So, then the Emerts came by for our weekly evening of festivities...and I put away my strawberry steps.

But...to my utter dismay, my #2 strawberry step for the small straberry (which I had not used) was MISSING.  Really?  Gone. I searched...offered a $1 reward.  After they left, I searched some more.  This morning, Granny has offered to double it!

So, Reward: for missing scrap of clear stamp!

Today, even though I'm so sad it's gone, I'm grateful that I am not living in Japan...or some war torn country.  Those artsy women would be rolling their eyes at me. So...if anyone has a Berry set that they don't want...or at least just the one step..haha...send it my way. And I'm  (trying to) not going to think too much  more about it.

Challenges: KSCC13, IC278

General Conference April 2011

Ken treated us out to lunch today at Chili's. Of course, 3 certificates for a free kid's meal certainly helped sway him!  haha.  Then, I came home to work on a little treat for a friend as I listened to the first session of General Conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  Just as it was ending, C* who was still in the room exclaimed:  I LOVE General Conference!

Wow!    Me too. Only it took me many more years to feel that way than his tender eleven.

Today, three new temples were announced...another one in Fort Collins, Colorado.  (Yes, in your state Jenn!!)    I loved how many talks incorporate the lyrics of hymns. I love how I can end the phrases with the leaders of the church as they quote scriptures and hymns.  I love how I feel uplifted. I love how I feel loved and on the right track.   I love the guidance and messages of the talks.  I love that I can hear it in my home.

Now...do you want to feel that?  Feel free to listen/watch it online too.  There are 4 sessions this weekend.  Number two starts in 12 minutes!

Tag...I'm it!

A couple of days ago, I found this "You're It! tag in my purse. I think I saw it earlier in the week...and just thought it was a Bath & Body Works coupon...since it was brightly colored. On the back, it says, "To Mom, From A*. " As you can see on the front, I was instructed to give it back to her in a secret way. So, when she came home from school, I mentioned that I had received her note and asked her how long it was in my purse. Apparently FOR WEEKS! She said she would peek inside to see if I had found it yet. Really?  Weeks!?! haha. I guess it's time to organize. Although, I bet she was just eager and the wait seemed long.

So yesterday, I created this pocket out of Paper Temptress papers for her...and matched the funky, fun colors of the note.  Then, while she was on an errand with her dad, I put the card in the mail to her.  So next week, SHE will be the one who has to get the mail.  Let the games begin!!

The white Cardstock is White Diamonds from Paper Temptress...which gives it a bit of sparkle that any 10 year old girl would love!

Images from Paper Makeup.  I think I've used this gal a lot lately!

If you are wondering where A* got that tag, check out "Just Mom & Me" from American Girl. We saw it at Borders a while back.  Then one day, I had a $5 promo gift certificate and a 40% off coupon. So I went to Borders to buy ME something. Of course, I came home with this fun book to share with DD.
