Today is my favorite daughter's 11th birthday. I can say that b/c it is absolutely true. She is sweet and kind and thoughtful. As she is always observant, she catches my mistakes. In our house, the birthday person wakes up to streamers on his/her door. Earlier this month, I went to bed, forgetting to put them up for E's bday. When I awoke the next morning, I scurried to fix my mistake. But found that my darling daughter had corrected it before I got out of bed.
The last time I was baking cookies in a pinch for our Friday Night party, I nearly put too many eggs into the mix. Luckily she was at my side to calmly ask me about the number eggs needed...and that saved the day!
A* has a style all her own. She loves streaking her hair hot pink. From time to time, she comes home from school and I see that flash of pink. (I hadn't noticed that she left for school that way.) She definitely has her own style and is very clever. (Yesterday we went to the salon and she now has some tinsel and feathers crimped into her hair!!) A* loves to make lists like her mom and granny. In fact, last week, she planned her entire bday party by herself. All I did was make the cupcakes and buy the pizza! She had a yoga themed party. First, the girls did yoga in the empty kitchen by watching a dvd. Then, they tried some moves using a few of her books. Later they played DDR on the Wii and tried their feet with DVD twister, which is more of a dancing game. She helped me sew up the eye pillows that were filled with flax seed and lavender essential oil. I listened from the next room when she was teaching and encouraging her friends as they stretched and tried out the new positions. She is a calm and kind yogini.
Every day is a happy day when my DD A* is near me. This card uses stamps from Our Craft Lounge. This week's OCL challenge is CAS + polka dots! When I read that, I had this fun idea...and I'm glad I finally had time to execute it! Link up with Mr. Linky on the OCL Lounge, using keyword OCL80 for online galleries. (OCL sneak peeks are happening now!!)
If you have a daughter, go give her a bird-day hug today!!
