Floral Smells...

Growing up, my grandparents lived down the street from me.  Eight houses. And just past the halfway mark was a house with large lilac bushes.  Oh, how I loved to grab a few of these small flowers. I reallllly wanted them in my own yard.  Fast Forward nearly two decades...and Ken and I bought this house at the end of August.  There were there large, seemingly over grown buses in the backyard. I told him that "next spring" we'd HAVE to cut them down.  Boy am I glad that I waited.  A year rolls around and they were LILAC BUSHES!  I have my own lilac bushes in my yard.  They don't seem to smell as much as those along the path to my grandparents' home.  Like Faith, I remember them blooming all summer as well.  Either way, I was happy to see this new Lilacs in Summer set from Mark's Finest Papers!

And yes, this green, gingham paper is found at Mark's Finest Papers as well!

Your card today is just gorgeous Dawn. I love the sweet lilac image and the beautiful green gingham check ribbon. Isn't it funny what we hold so dear in our memories. When I see hydrangea's it always makes me think of my grandmother who had them all over her front and backyard in various colours.

oh yes, those lilacs along the path to my mom's were so delicious. I have this smallest bush out back here now and altho they smell, they are thin. But your card reminds me of the smell of spring. And you bet...lilacs are wonderful,....just like you are.

Pretty card, Dawn. The green gingham ribbon complements the lovely lilacs. I miss the smell of lilacs in the summer of my childhood. The crepe myrtles of Florida are no substitute!

Oooo, what a great memory Dawn. I remember a house in our town that had lilac bushes as big as their house. Mmmmmmm. They smell sooooo good. Your card is lovely. The green ribbon really highlights your beautifully colored image of lilacs.

Sweet card Dawn! i love this lilacs stamp! My mother has lilacs, both purple and white, in her yard. She transplanted the white from my grandmother's yard when she passed away. i have tried and tried to transplant in my own yard but they don't want to take :( I just love them - they never last long enough. But this stamp is so detailed, you can almost smell them :)
