Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge #6

Yippee! I think you'll enjoy this trendy challenge today!

Speedy the Cat wants to see what you can do with "Buttons and Bows"  I used Lime Squeeze paper from the Mark's Finest Papers Store for the card base. The button is laced with violet embroidery floss.  "Cupcake Birthday" set is new this month!  Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for the upcoming Mark's Finest Paper's Blog hop which will be June 8-11th. For more information on the challenge and prize, click on over to the MPF's company blog.

Knight in Shining Armor

If you need shining armor for a knight, you better pick up some of the shiny/shimmery paper from Paper Temptress!  The red on the knight is flocked. Between fluff and paper, there is just so much texture on this card!

A Gardener's Best Friend

Here is a fun project for your favorite gardener....
The "thumb" holds the packet of seeds.  You could make it more "manly" by adding a more masculine embellishment along with a Home Depot Gift card!

Note the awesome textured papers by Paper Temptress.  The Indio Blue Skinny columns and Naturals Laid look like the fabric work gloves, don't they!  I added sponging to the Laid to bring out the texture.

As you can see...Lots of room for a sentiment and handwritten message!  This sentiment is by Paper Makeup Stamps.

Apron Pocket Card

Once in a while, you may want to slip a little treat to a friend. Or maybe some KoolAid for a summer drink. haha. Here is a darling idea for a slender package.

When you pull out the treat, you can read a fun sentiment (by Paper Makeup Stamps).

I started off using Paper Temptress' Sour Apple Pop Tones cardstock (4 x 11 inches)  for the base of this card.  Score the bottom and fold up at 3.5 inches.  The top will need to be trimmed to fit into a standard envie.  Remember that you will need to plan for any trim that hang down off your apron.  The pink is Pink Lemonade Pop Tones, while the white is Blanc Sparkle.

The trick to get the two side curves to match:  Sketch one side and cut it off in one piece. Then, flip the discarded shape. Trace it to the opposite side...cut it out.  Works every time...no worries!

This card is also for the ERPOM #6 challenge...Make a card based on a movie.  One of the most recent films I have seen is "Julie and Julia."  So...an apron card is most appropriate!

Edited:  Tanda Stamps is giving away a prize if you participate in tihe Tuesday Taggers. I really enjoy the Tuesday Taggers Challenge!

Sitting Pretty

For the next three months, *I* will be sitting pretty.  Mark's Finest Papers "Speedy the Cat's Blog Team" has asked me to join their team this summer!  I am eager as the company store sells stamps, papers, charms and ribbons and more!

Normally not a fan of color combos, I designed this card using SCS's color combo today to celebrate the new team!  Here I used ribbon and a charm from the store.  Be sure to check out the weekly Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge every Saturday.
