Make way for a Boy Scout

My #1 has jumped the gap from being a cub scout to being a boy scout. Friday was his first BSA campout and merit badge clinic. He posed for a few quick pix before we dashed to school to pick up the forgotten jacket and then on to drop him off at the carpool.

I'm glad he saluted me here, on his own. B/c when I dropped him off, he didn' t give me a second look or a wave or a hug! It was almost like the first day of school again with my baby boy.

But, I let it go and drove off. He came home exhausted and excited. And only has plans for the upcoming events and achievements that will lead him to the Eagle Award.

Letting go is the hardest part of being a parent. Isn't it great to see him find a goal?...and being an Eagle Scout is an awesome goal!!
