Today, as a family, we talked about being loud verses being soft in our speech. (I've challenged each of the kids, as well as Ken and myself, to memorize Proverbs 15:1 by next Sunday.) The more I think about it, the more I think that it's about the "noise level" in our actions and attitudes as well. Honestly, people who are overwhelming loud and boisterous and who want to be in charge and in front (all the time) tend to annoy me. Annoy me alot. Maybe that is my problem. Or perhaps it's b/c I'm more of the the type of person who sees what needs to be done...and I do it. Without thinking of being in charge or in front or with the most "friends." (Although, that might be nice from time to time.)
So, I'm going to continue to be quieter in my actions...unless it comes to standing up for my kids. But, we've heard from DD's teacher and I am certain that we are sure to have a great year! (But it's probably about time to start quizzing her on her multiplication tables!) I'll try to stop wishing I was more noticeable once in a while.
And I think I'll look for others who are quietly going about making others' lives more enjoyable too.
