I did not know this until Friday, but my youngest son's teacher has come up with an innovative way to give her students a "field trip" experience even though the district had no funds for field trips at the lower grade. In groups of 2 or 3, she takes them to the local bookstore. There they pick out books for their classroom. They must defend the reasoning for the purchase. It is done after school and on her own dime. And not labeled as an official field trip. But what do kids know about these official titles and the paperwork that goes along with them? My son was thrilled to go on this adventure with another classroom buddy. And each child took home 3 books to read and then return to their classroom when they are finished with them.
In appreciation, I made this card for my son to give to the teacher. I can not resist having this creature hold the books! The right side of the card front is cut short so the rhinestones peek out and the banner overlaps. Every student deserves a teacher who is this caring and thoughtful! Thank you!

How nice is that!? I'm sure she's going to love this card. He's so cute holding those books. Love the front cut smaller than the back too. :)
Dawn.. wow, that is so sweet of her. I love to read and have always encouraged my kids to read.
Fantastic card - AND what a fantastic teacher!!!
Love the card! Really like all the sparkle! Inventive teachers are the ones that deserve to teach! Thinking outside the "box" is key! So glad your son has such a special teacher!
