National No Cussing Week

While I am cleaning or crafting,  I'm listening to the radio. And many times, it's NPR.  Just now I heard a story about McKay Hatch...a young man who started a no cuss club at his school.  They have declared this a "No Cuss Week" and are encouraging people to use good language to express themselves.   In a country where we pride ourselves on Freedom of Speech, this boy and his family has been harassed for trying to encourage others to pull their mouths out of the gutter.  Hey, say what you want.  Have your own opinions.  Just say it cleanly.  Learn some more words to be able to articulate what you are saying.  And even if you can't stop your potty mouth, goodness...let someone else have an opinion and let him say it cleanly.   I admire this 14 year old who is willing to stand up set a good example.  (Hey, and he's a HATCH!)

This kid must be a roll model for CA because the State Assembly has declared the first week of March as no cuss week.
In this day and age it's great to see kids setting examples for others.

That's great! We encourage the same in our house.

What a GREAT kid! Why in the world woud people harass him for encouraging clean language?? I hope many young people learn from his example, not the grumpy-foul-mouthed complainers!
