Predictions already coming true!

I stated in a previous blog post that 2009 looked like it would be one crafty year. And so it continues...

Saturday night, I was checking my email and Tracey, owner of Starving Artistamps, invited me to be a Featured Guest Designer for the new Doodlefactory Valentine sets that are being released this month. Yippee Skippee!

Boy...what an honor! I'm one eager beaver to promote such a personable stamp company that has such fun stamp lines. I recently noticed that they are carrying the new Whimsy stamps which I read about on SCS. They are pretty darling. Also, they sell a large selection of mosaic stamps which I have been wanting for a long time but I have budget restraints! But the DoodleFactory line has some of my favorite images. They are large, daffy and downright delightful for a whimsical stamper like myself!

Check back soon for projects and cards made with the new sets. The new rubber can't get here fast enough, in my opinion!

For Hank

I came across this funtastic Doodlefactory Card and it reminded me of Hank. The stamper who created is named Nina! She's from Sweden (I think).

Adding: Hank is really into bikes these day. So Hank, if you send me a pix of your bikes/working on bikes, I'll post it here too! (Or maybe Marissa can send me some pix.)

No mojo but a clearly cool card!

Today, I really struggled incorporating this background technique on a card. What started off as a black card base finally emerged to acetate. The images were changed from a castle to a polar bear to finally Mimo. And trust me, they were switched back and forth a few times too!

But Starving Artistamps had a challenge last month to design a clear card. I LOVE clear cards ever since my mom sent me my very first one! So...better late than never...I accomplished it with glitz galore!

MI Stampers at lunch

This afternoon, I traveled, oh about 2 miles...to The Olive Garden. There I met up with 19 other stampers from around MI...specifically stampers who chat it up on Splitcoast.

This is me with Emma F. We were having so much fun chatting in person that even the camera caught the giggliness...aka...blurry laughter shot! haha. Maria gave each of us a little top note die treat bag. (Pix to come tomorrow.)

A Crafty Start to the New Year

I haven't had time to relate our New Year's festivities. But I can say that 2009 might be the craftiest year yet!

On New Year's Eve, we went to our neighbor's home to celebrate with a total of 3 families. Although there were 9 kids present, only 2 of them were girls. Luckily the boys kept themselves pretty quiet and left us alone. The other girl had brought a clothes pin doll making kit! She didn't have felt or pipecleaners or other such materials. So the ladies brigade scurried down to my house to pick up the essentials...pompoms, felt, glue guns, thread, pipecleaners... And then M, Hailey and I crafted up some delightful clothes pin dolls. Here are mine and M's.

M* still needs to add hair to her fairy and googlie eyes to her reindeer!
These are mine. The yellow haired lady is really adorable in real life!

For New Year's Day, we know another funtastic family who generously opens their home each New Year's Day for a fun openhouse full of fun, friends and food! (The best three things, right? All you need is family and you're set!) So Megan had again voiced an interest in the desk set that I had created and donated to the Young Women's silent auction last summer. So I invited her to come over the next day, when her little siblings were arriving for some play time with my own 3 kids.

Megan, age 9, is a natural crafter. Not only did she chose a cute polka dot motif accented with a darker pink flower, but she chose a great color scheme of pink, yellow and white. Here is here desk set:

Someone needs to get this girl some stamps! and multi-colored ink! an ID to Splitcoast! haha.

Sweet Stuff

Starving Artistamps
has released a couple of new Doodle Factory image sets along with a coordinating sentiment set just in time for the season of LOVE! With Ken's job situation and the economy here in MI, I'll have to pass on purchasing these new sets. But there is always a chance at earning blog candy...right?? haha. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Click on their link to see the other sets. Then, sign up for the blog candy...and if you win, send me some images please!! (And tell them that I sent you too, Please!!)

A Surprise Bonne Annee Gift!

We are often with my parents on New Year's Day. My Dad, in recent years, would give us all a small gift to celebrate the new year. A Bonne Anne Gift. This year, we were home in MI. But this morning, I found a surprise Bonne Anne gift in my inbox.

Hev, a blogger, created this to show her appreciation to me for visiting (and commenting on) her blog. Wasn't that a great surprise?

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
