Cleaning

Mondays are clean the house day here. I'm teaching the kids how to clean while we clean. And today..it is not going well.

Nice break...need to get back to the kids who are "folding laundry." Sounds more like rolling in the clean clothes and arguing...

Love this picture. It does get better....they say. (teehee) It's great when the kids can help out, cuz it gets done quicker and less you have to do. I remember when my kids started folding laundry and the towels looked liked horrible. I wanted to redo them so bad, but instead they stayed that way and told them great job. Of course they did get better in time.
Love your blog and your artwork is so creative and inspiring.

thanks got the cards today, a fun surprise in my mail box as we returned from visiting the grandkids-dan's kids. love the cards, i needed b-day cards so they are purrfect and the others will get used also. thank you. don't give up on teaching the kids to help-it's so important for their future life and your sanity.

I used to leave coupons for trips to the local dairy for ice cream cones, a special goddie from our "Atta Boy" box, or a day with NO CHORES FOR YOU!, under books, table lamps, chair legs, scatter rugs, etc. If the kids moved things to dust or vacuum, they found the coupons and could turn them in. It they didn't move things... well... the kid who did it right next time found them.

It wasn't an always, every time they had chores thing... just often enough to keep them looking and learning to complete the task at hand to Momzilla's expectations.

There isn't a mom without maid service or a housekeeper who hasn't heard the kids jumping into a pile of clean clothes and hasn't fantasized about some hot sugar daddy who would take her away from it all. Or at least, her hot hubby paying for a cleaning lady and a baby sitter for ten days while he took her to Venice for a Gondola ride and Italian ice cream.

what a calm couple of cartoons. as i remember it, there would have been a lot more chaos-irons dropped on heads, doors slamming, bean bag chair smashing...
