Seriously, I was dying yesterday. I woke up around 3 am...sick as sick could be! Ugh. And the aches and fevers and chills...they were bad. But nothing was as bad as the headache. Headache doesn't even explain the pain that was in my head all day...non stop. If this was anything like a migraine, I can't image what those sufferers go through! Poor E was watching tv for several hours while I whimpered with my head under the covers. I dialed my mom's number so he could at least talk to someone for a few minutes.
After his "few minutes" were up, he got off the phone. I asked him if he wanted to get dressed. And he said "I'll get dressed and then play Nickjr.com." So much for keeping him entertained. But my mom realized how sick I was and emailed my bestest friend Michele for assistance. A short time later, I heard a knock on the door and called for E to see who was there. "It's L*!!" His best buddy. So I lumbered out of bed to get the door.
Michele had come to rescue me herself instead of pawning me off to someone else. She had a bowl of homemade soup and some juice and water bottles for me to keep by my bed side. She bundled off E to her house for the rest of the day. Later, she dropped off my son along with dinner that lasted at least 2 day...bread, fresh fruit, veggies, cookies. Also, she thoughtfully provided paper cups, plates and plastic utencils so that there would be no clean up for Ken.
Ken was able to come home early yesterday and today to help with the kids and the house.
Now I'm just sick, regular sick.
But soon I'll post the recipe for the bread/cinaommon rolls which several blog readers have inquired about!
Thanks Michele for taking care of me and my family in so many generous and thoughful ways. You are a great example of how to care for others. And as the great Cohan would say: "My mother thanks you, my father thanks you, my sister thanks you, and, I assure you, I thank you!"

I am glad Michele took such good care of you...and she isn't even in your area. Makes me wonder where all the other do-gooders are that ARE in your area/church. Hmmmmm?
