Brrrr....An Artice Blog Hop

(If you are looking for the PMS blog hop, scroll down to the next post.  But hey!  Why not do two blog hops today?  Perhaps you'll have a better chance at some free rubber!)

Yippeee!  I'm really excited for today.  I just had such fun designing with this latest release from Starving Artistamps.  This Doodle Factory set is going to be great for winter, Christmas, Valentines, men, women, kids...you name it!  This is a fun one indeed.  This blog hop officially starts at 11am est.

Welcome to the Starving Artistamps New Release Blog Hop

and One Day Only Blog Candy Giveway!

We are so excited to present our newest release...

You are going to want to visit all the stops on our hop because someone is giving away a complete unmounted set of the new release for blog candy! We are keeping the blog candy open for one day only so your chances of winning are even better! (blog candy ends 11am PST December 8th, 2009 the winner will be announced on or before December 9th 2009). If you have arrived here on your own and are just finding out about the blog hop you should start here: http://www.starving artistamps. blogspot. com

Now on to the Tundra!!

I used Paper Temptress' Crystal Clear paper to make this floating card. There is just enough room to write out a note underneath Walgruff.  The snow is stamped on Poison Ivory Incandescent Paper.  It has a great sheen to it and takes the watercolor really well.  In real life, there is a shimmer on that snowy landscape! (Detail shows it a little better.)

How can your heart not melt with this Valentine card!

Stickles...always perfect for every card!

Mooth was decorated for the Christmas season using an ornament stamp found in Santa's Sweet Shoppe which is sold by Starving Artistamps.l

Who needs patterned papers when you have this adorable fauna of the artic??

All embossing on this card used an irridescent embossing powder.

"Juno" who loves you?  I do! haha.  Now..maybe I need to make that into a card for real?  Here is another sweet card for someone you care about.  Aaaaaw!

Hey... you can show your love...Inside and Out!

On the white areas, this card was coated with extra thick embossing powder, twice...for an icy finish.  Note the lower left hand corner that shows off the texture.

Although icy on the outside, the inside is hot!  A great place to write something that will heat up your one and only!

I used a speckled white for this card's snowy background.  It kept it simple...yet the specks give interest.  Oooh, you just gotta love those fish!  Those fish eyes!!

Thank you for stopping by my blog!!  This was the last stop today.  Did you remember to put comments on all the stops?  Ooh, someone is going to be one happy stamper!  Thank you for hopping with us, you can find the new Arctic and much more on our website: http://www.starving artistamps.com.

A Scientist in the Making

My youngest has wanted to be a scientist for years. I am not even certain how it began. Perhaps it was when Granny and Papa gave him a scientific experiement kit for his bday two years ago.  But if you ask him, he will tell you that he wants to be a scientist. E* is very observant.  Even his first grade teacher has told me this.  On occasion, worksheets are copied incorrectly.  The front and the back are the same thing.  He is willing to raise his hand and question it when the rest of the class sits there...doing nothing.  Rather...doing the same problems twice.

I'm sure he gets some of it from his Dad who seems to fix almost anything and who questions everything.

We were getting out some Christmas lights today and found this string of lights with a musical Santa on it. The lights blink in time with the music.  But...1/2 the string was dead.  Ken decided that he would doctor it up.  Splice a few wires.   Add a switch so the next time the lights die, we simply have to plug it into a new string.

Of course, Baby Scientist was eager and helpful.  Here they are...

Upclose with the gadget...

Note the extra plug.

And proof that E is not the only pesty sibling.  Here is his sister who just had to stick her head into the pix frame!

Ken wants me to publically announce that I beat him at chess today. I don't like strategy games. They bore me. Ken is a schemer too...so playing games is just no fun b/c we play them two different ways. I'll get upset if I even have to relate to you how many made up words Ken makes when we used to play Boggle.  Or how he goes for the tiny, tiny words for a gazillion points in Scrabble.  Ooh...I just don't play that way.

So today, we played a game of chess.  (I was being kind.)  And ugh...it was dull.  And he thinks so long before making a move.  I on the other hand, just make a move.  Well, at one point, I made a move, called check mate.  He says "that's not check mate."  And moved a piece.  So, my rook took out his queen or king. Oh, now I can't remember. But that was the end of the game.

Oh I-I-I-I-I-I-I....am the the CHAMPION...my FRIEND.......oooh, ooh, ooh!  :)

Also, last update...we made 2 kinds of christmas cookies tonight...peanut butter blossoms and snickerdoodles. Again...snickerdoodles were for Ken.

Some extra peeks for PMS

Ahoy there, matey!  Here is a sneak peek of a single stamp being released by Paper Makeup on Monday!

Check out the PMS blog for more sneak peeks...or it's off the plank for you!  Tomorrow is the PMS release Blog Hop AND the Starving Artistamp Blog Hop for a Doodle Factory release. And I am so excited for this one!!

Bella Birthday Blog Hop

I thought I'd join up with the Bellas celebrating the 3rd bday of the company.  Blog hops are sooo much fun and you can find new blogs to admire too!

If you've just happened upon my blog, you can CLICK HERE to start from the beginning at Bloggabella.
I chose to do a little Bella Giftie for a friend of mine who has been anxiously awaiting some test results. I figured she probably needed a little break...some fizzies for the bath time...a little peace and me time.

Stickles are always great!  Especially for those bubbles.  I (heart) taking baths and so this bella was a must for me.

I used a scorpal to design this box.  Box making is so simple with that tool and a little math work! It's fairly thin since fizzies are thin.

And a little 3x3 notecard to send her warm wishes.  Another great Bella that I have in my collection is Billboardabella...who can make lots of great announcements on cards!!

Three gift certificates for $100 in Bella Bucks will be hidden along the hop, but we’re not telling you where so be sure to leave some love as you hop!!! Make sure you leave comments on every post so you have a chance to win!! The winners will be announced on Monday, December 7 at the Stamping Bella Blog. (What a great early Christmas gift!!  Fill up your own stocking with that shopping spree.)

Thanks so much for stopping by! Now it's time to hop on over to one of my partners in stamping (on another design team):  JENN MCMILLAN.  She has fabulous stuff to share!

The Fairies have docked this month!!

Yesterday, PMS unfurled the cover from their latest set release:  Sailing On, a delightful nautical set perfect for young and old, male and female.  Today, Katie has roped in the fairies...and many of them  are sea-worthy this month as well!

Bum, bum, buuuuuuuuuuuuuuum!!

(That was done in the sound of Snood.)

In case you didn't notice my sidebar, Starving Artistamps is releasing a new set on December 7th.

The official blog hop will start at 11 AM EST on the 7th and end on the 8th at 11 AM PACIFIC TIME.  And of course...one lucky hopper with get the release mailed to her!  Yipeee!

Time for the Tuesday Throwdown with Sherrod Studio

Kim is challenging us to create a card holder with cards today.  Since I am crafting some lovely wooden ornaments, I thought that some 3x3 cards would make a nice addition to the gift.  I altered the mini pizza box so that the finished dimension is 3.25 inches square and one inch deep.  Perfect for about 6 cards!

Note the stars on the side.  Ooh, this is a fun set. I love solid stamps.  Hope Sherrod Studio plans more in the future!

And...some of the cards.  With this set, it is easy to alter each card by switching out a patterened tree or holiday sentiment.  The stars were embossed in gold.  When uploading to online galleries, use the keyword:  SSTT07.  Be sure to Link up with Mr. Linky on the Sherrod Studio Blog.  Did you know that the new release comes out on December 10th?  And there are 2 days of sneak peeks before hand.
