PMSRP15...Make-up list!

Oh yeah...the 2nd PMS release challenge today is a recipe challenge.  Include on your card:

Foundation:  this sketch
powder: use some sparkle (glitter, stickles, crystals, etc.);
eyes: use buttons;
blush: incorporate pink into your card;
lips: use at least three layers

I chose to crop the Moody Music gal b/c she's so rockin...just like my DD who loves to listen to music.  Instead of buttons, I useed dew drops...which are pretty close to buttons, right? haha.  The yellow layer is stamped with the swirlie with stars from last month's Dream set.  It's a little hard to see but I added stickles on all the stars as well as the ear phones and cords.  The Moody Girls are my new favorites...to be sure!  AND Congrats to Michelle who just won the custom made FAIRY STAMP!  Wowee...what a grand prize!  You have a week to play along with the other designers at PMS...keyword PMSRP15!

PMSRP14...A Case of PMS

For my Release Challenge, I chose to CASE brandilovesctmh.  I just loved the swirlie frame and flower in the corner. I changed out the fairy and the sentiment and the direction of the layout.
I know she's a fairy but I think she's actually a Merry House-Elf! haha.  I used a sizzlit for the swirls and a fuzzy pink brad to pick up the little touches of pink all about the card.  Be sure to play along with the PMS Designers in the PMS Forum!

OH! It's finally HERE!!

(Did you come over from Mindy's blog?)

OH yeah!  You know...Labor Day.  The end of summer. And in Michigan, it means that kids will FINALLY be going back to school. I'm ready, they're ready! haha.

But, first, today is the big blog hop for Paper Makeup's September release.  I was really excited when Katie assigned this fairy stamp to me.  (This month it is now available in RUBBER!)   It reminds me of my sister Cara and  myself.  Not that we did each other's hair. haha.  But it's so sweet...and we were probably sweet at one time. haha.  I kept the composition simple so one would focus on these sweet fairy sisters.  Did you know that this stamp was designed with all the PMS designers in mind?  Yep...since we get along so well and have a nice cyber friendship, it represents all of us!
Now flutter on through the rest of the blogs...and be sure to leave notes along the way.  Gather all the letters along the way which will spell out a code to get 15% off all new releases!!  OH, baby...now that's great!  Speaking of letters, my letter is:
That's right...an "O."  Be sure to start at the beginning if you made it here by accident.  Tonight, the big party starts in the Paper Makeup Forum at 9pm cst!  Challenges, prizes, annoucements!  Now off you go to Lisa M.'s blog.  If you haven't started from the beginning, head on over to the Paper Makeup Blog!

Come on...time to do a Challenge...

with the Corrosive Challenge Blog by Janet!  I have enjoyed doing her challenges AND she has prizes every week!
I am always needing thank you cards so this week, I thought I would try to stock pile them a bit!   But the true challenge is to use CATS on your card.  Seriously, I am not a fan of cats.  And they know it b/c when I'm around them, they swarm!  haha.  But Mrs. Poose from Starving Artistamps is really fun to color in a mottled sort of way.  Be sure to link your catty creation to the Challenge Blog and use CCBJ28 as the keyword if you upload it to an online gallery.  I'll be clicking on the submissions!

Blue Without You

School starts on Tuesday....and the kids are ready...I am ready.

Although, my readiness will quickly turn to loneliness as all my babies will be in school full time. Often I tuck ATCs with notes on the back into their lunches.  At this time, I'm pretty behind in my stash.  But SCS to the rescue.  (Insert Snood sound:  bump, bump, buuuuuuuuuummm!)  Today's challenge is to make a scrapling!

Mimo is the classical Eyore-ish character and the emoticon is new from Starving Artistamps' Into the Woods set. Very fun card.  This year, the kids' will get scraplings with notes!
Today is FRIDAY...remember to check out Paper Makeup's Friday Freebie.  I'm thinking I will need to post a scrapling using it later today!

Back to school...

Almost.

My kids return to the books on Tuesday. But Paper Makeup is releasing a fun new set just in time for those going back to school.  Apples to Apples is a fun set with apple images and great sentiments that are so versitile!

I often tuck ATC with a note on the back into my kids' lunches.  Some of my kids would prefer if I did that every day. haha.  I need to get going on a stash now that I have three of them in school full time.

Head on over to the PMS blog to see what other designers did with this new set.

Yellow Rose of Texas

I used some papers from Paper Temptress for this Sherrod Studio card.  The base is a single 5.5 x 4.25.  The white layer with the rose is a trifold using 4.25 x 11 inch Heavenly White Premium US CS folded into thirds (after the flower is stamped and cut).  I used a corner punch on the corners of the colored layer, Stardreams Malachite.

So, when you slide off the decorative black ribbon and beaded stick pin, you can open the card to reveal the sentiment.
Sherrod Studio's Friendship Blooms set has a lot of friendly quotes including the one I used here.  It reads:  "To the soul there is hardly anything more healing than friendship.  -- Thomas Moore."

I stamped the large flower in white craft and embossed it using clear EP.  The leaves are also stamped and embossed on the malachite paper.  Then I watercolored the image and cut the right side before scoring the top and bottom crease.

Got PMS or are you just MOODY??

Ooh lala...you gotta check out today's sneak peeks from Paper Makeup!  There is a new line of images in town and they are going to be calling your name!  The Moody girls are hip, funky and do they have a unique style!  I had a blast coloring in Art Moody.
I wanted to give her a sketchier style with the colors...lots of texture and interest!  There is an acetate overlay around the card.  The black base is embossed in argyle...perfect for back to school. I told Katie that I liked all the Moody Girls and to just assign one to me as she saw fit.  I lucked out and she gave me my favorite one!  Thanks, Katie!!  This is perfect for a back to school card for a teenager! And here in MI, we practically are wearing scarves this August. Where on earth did summer go??
Click on over to the PMS blog to see the rest of the sneek peeks today!

Bad News, Good News

As always, life is full of ups and downs.  A certain un-named rubber company has come out with a strict new policy for its so-called "independant demonstrators."  (cough, cough)  But yeah for me, the head Paper Temptress herself, Patricia, emailed me earlier today asking me to stay on as a full time designer!  Yippee and thanks, Madame Patricia.  (I think a temptress must be a madame! haha)  So, that's life and I now have a few minutes to rush to soccer practice.  GO ROCKETS!

A Chance to Win New Rubber!!

Starving Artistamps is sponsering the latest Rubber Stamp Chat Sketch Challenge.  Tracey has cookied up a really fun sketch that can be rotated for variety.
Here is my take on the sketch using images from Into the Woods by Starving Artistamps.  We sort of missed out on summer weather here in MI...so this fall card is perfect for the current weather conditions!  Inside it reads:  Our family tree is full of nuts.  SA has so many zany sentiments...perfect for a quirky cousin or uncle!
Head on over the Rubber Stamp Chat and upload your own take on the layout.  If your name is randomly drawn, you'll receive the latest set called Costume Party, as well as Into the Woods and Prehistoric...all with the matching sentiment sets.  That is a load of rubber!  AND if you have used 100% Starving Artistamps on your card and your name is pulled, you'll get to chose ANOTHER free set!  Wowee Wow!  Good luck!

Ready for Halloween yet??

Paper Makeup has some new images that will make you start dreaming of candy buckets and costume fun!  To make these wings, I simply cut out 2 holly leaves from this sizzix green die.  Stacked them together and cut the curve.  Next, I punched out a 3/4 inch circle in black and added googlie eyes.  There is also black stickles on the bat which gives it some depth...but it doesn't show up in the pix.  The ghost "o" and the paranthesis were also stickle-fied.

While Halloween is around the corner, DS wanted to know how many days until Easter. I think he needs to concentrate on the fall before spring! haha  Check out the Paper Makeup Blog all this week for sneak peeks from all the talented PMS Designers!
