Stretching Stamps

I have said it before and I'll say it today...I love stretching stamps.

Sherrod Studio wanted its designers to create a yummy treat holder using it's Halloween set.  Although I do not have it, I do have some festive pumpkins from the Harvest Blessings set.  Add fall colors, a yummy sentiment (which is actually from Fresh Baked) and some candycorn candies....stir in some Halloween magic (hehe) and presto magic...

A Halloween-y candy holder!

I used papers from Paper Temptress.  RC Burgundy is a sturdy cardstock perfect for packaging yet lovely because of its texture.  I started off with a piece of paper that was 4.25 x 11  inches.  Score at   3.75, 4 7/8  , 6 and 9.75 inches.  Fold up into a triangular shaped package.   The bottom has a "W" shape so it can expand with the items you put inside, or fold flat.   Decorate and fill with your favorite Halloween treat!  (I did trim off a little on the flap on my example.)  I stamped the pumpkin image onto Watercolor Paper which has a lovely look when you use reinkers to color it in.  Fill a cello bag with a sweet treat and you can easily produce this giftie for friends, family, teachers or coworkers!

Back to stretching stamps...

You may think on first glance that Fresh Baked is primarily a Christmas/Holiday set.  But just ook what you can do with those darling faces! We are paper crafters...start crafting!  First I made a rough sketch of 2 ghosts and then I cut them out to use as a template.  PaperTemptress'  Diamond White paper is just sparkley enough for any ghost to glimmer and glean!  By sponging yellow around the edges, I have given this twosome an eery glow and some definition.  The sentiment was cut out from sizzlits alphabet dies in chocolatechip ruche paper.  Texture gives a card so much interest!  (The blue is Stardreams Malachite...starry, starry night perfection!)

Have fun making those cards and treats for your friends this season!

PS.  Today is World Card Making Day.  Be sure to check out Paper Craft Planet from 6-7 pm EST as Sherrod Studio will have some fun things to show you.

Countdown to Christmas with Paper Makeup (and a Sneak Peek)

As hinted on my sidebar for the last few weeks, Paper Makeup is having a Countdown to Christmas sale.  Starting today...for an entire week, the PMS Monsters are 10% off!  Hey...perfect timing for Halloween too!  But be sure to look through all the monsters since there are sporty monsters, school monsters, sweet monsters and sleepy time monsters!  Oh yeah...and monster sentiments!  (Code this week is:  MONSTER103)

But...on to the sneak peek.  I was excited to read this quote being released on October 7th since I have been a Brownie leader for the last few years.

Be sure to head on over to the PMS blog to see what other designers have done with this month's sentiments!

Slow Stamp Week...

Obviously...it has been a slow stamp week. But today is the first day of the October Paper Makeup Sneak Peeks.  If you love the fairies, be sure to flutter on over to the blog to see what the designers have come up with. If you follow the company, you know that one costumer and fan, Michelle, won a contest.  The prize was a fairy drawn to her specifications.  Michelle had a really great idea with lots of details.  You won't want to miss it!

Bring on the Doodles!

LOL...haha..I love saying that.

Here are a couple of cards I made using Doodlefactory Images released by Starving Artistamps.  Firstly, a "congrats you are pregnant and it's going to be wonderful!" card. I might look busy.  I used a preprinted card for the background and then added the stamping touches!

A detail of the popped up dress!

Next, and boy do I like this one...Mr. Bones! haha

I love mixing and matching images.  This line of stamps is so easy to do so too.  The stickle-fied lily is from "Into the Woods."  I created the tomb stone from 2 Sizzix tags which overlap slightly.  The swirlie embossed background  is so VanGogh and spooky wind-like...perfect for a night in a graveyard.  Have you bought your Halloween treats yet??

Paper Makeup Challenges

Did you know that you have an entire week to complete a Paper Makeup Challenge?  So far, these challenges have been posted on Mondays.  But if you would prefer a different day, please go to the PMS blog and vote for what suits your stamping schedule best.

This week's challenge is a color combo:  rose red,  chocolate chip and old olive!

Be sure to use PMSMC29  as the keyword in online galleries.  Also, link up with Mr. Linky and your creation will be shown on the Sunday Showoff!  How's that for service!

Mambo Kiss

Today's Corrosive Challenge by Janet is a color challenge:  Mambo Melon and Kiwi Kiss.

Be sure to use the Keyword:  CCJB31 when you upload to online galleries...and be sure to link up with Mr. Linky on the Corrosive Challenge blog too.  In true Halloween Spirit, I chopped off the heads of the peeps in Starving Artistamps' Costume Party. This is a classic layout that can be altered for all sorts of styles and images.
