PMS Friday Freebie...

Just imagine the crowds hollering!! Yeah for Paper Makeup Freebies!!

After reading this sentiment, hearts was the way to go. I used my die cuts to make the background paper with a stenciling technique. There is a row of paper piercing above and below the hearts...hard to see in this pix. Though the more I look at this card, the more it looks lik ea tuxedo! haha This fits the bill for today's LSC231 challenge too.

Here is a snail card I made earlie this week...

Just a simple CAS card. B/c you always need a few in your stash for quick notes to those who need a little happy mail in their mail box!

Cards

I have been busy with Ken's 40th bday party and summer and church and summer and the kids during summer...so I haven't been stamping. But I did a double challenge using Paper Makeup's Nature's Song set. I really was glad to see a solid image set being released. It gets tiring to color every image in! And PMS has such nice sentiments! (Just be sure to be careful where you highlight the words. hehe.)
This was made for Randy who is testing for Master Chef during the upcoming year!

PMS Monday Challenge...

and this week it's my favorite sort of challenge...the sketch challenge!

Here is what I designed....
Remember, I told you that Swirlie Tree made an excellent background. AND it coordinates with the Nature's Song set that was on sale last week!!! It's still a great price now. Katie's sets are very reasonable.
If you upload your sketch to an online gallery, be sure to use the Keyword: PMSMC21. Link it to the PMS blog so we can all admire your creation. AND...it'll get posted in the weekly roundup of Paper Makeup Cards!
Be sure to snag your free word art while you are checking out the blog!

Ken's stamped project

Although he grumbles about my stamping endeavors, this morning, when I didn't have a stamped card for him, Ken was disappointed. Since we have afternoon church and it's a perfect place to announce to all that Ken is FORTY, I made a button for him to wear.

When I turned 30, I was was pretty excited to be able to proudly say "I'm thirty something." I have a young face and spent years with people not believing that I was the oldest or what my age really was. The previous summer, I had come across a rather large button that read "Today's my birthday. I'm 30!" at a garage sale. As I was showing it to Ken, the home owners over heard and were surprized that I was a year away fro 30 so they gave me the button for free...determining that I surely needed it! So, I proudly pinned it to my chest and wore it around church that day. The funny thing being, I was very pregnanty with E and the button was 1/2 the size of my chest. haha. I'm sure I was a sight!

(I gave that button to my sister Jocelyn for her 30th bday and asked her to send it to Marissa for her 30th. I wonder if she did that.)

I'm new to using clear stamps but I am quickly learning their benefits. The Balloon from the Sherrod Studio set "Gracie" set can be set on an acrylic block so that the string hangs anyway you'd like it. Or the balloon for that matter. I loop and glued a piece of cardstock on the back for a saftey pin to slide in and pin to Ken's white shirt. Add some stickles for pizzaz...and though Ken might take it off while he teaches his class today....it'll be an eye catcher through the first hour!

The big FOUR-Oh!

Today's is my husband's birthday....

Happy birthday, Ken!

With a Glint In Her Eye!

I love the richness of this card. I paper pieced a shirt on to Gracie...watercolored the pants and stuck a bear in her arms. As elegant as this looks, it will be a swell card for a little girl. Did you notice the glint in her eye? I'm sure it is a reflection from the embossing...but it sure looks like a glint. AND...

If you buy this Gracie Stamp set from Sherrod Studio, procedes will go to children's charities. Then there really WILL be kids with glintful eyes.

Sherrod Studio is gearing up for their SECOND release. Stop by often to see sneak peeks and contests. Kim, the owner, has announced that challenges will soon begin. I just LOVE challenges!
