Muskegon with my laptop

I'm sitting in a hotel room...with my laptop...and online! Yeah! Now we are off to sit in the hot tub...while the men and boys cram into a WWII submarine.
Gotta love technology!

Repeated stamping

The stamps used on this card are from DRS Designs. The pansy postage stamp was stamped repeatedly (WT219 challenge) to create the focal point on this card. I was so excited when DRS Designs sent me the sentiment. It will be perfect for so many cards...inside and out!

Luckily I had stamped this card yesterday and it fit the challenge. I think I have somehow uninstalled something on my new laptop...I'm off to fix it. Wish me luck.

New 'Do Redo!

This afternoon, I got my hair done by the very talented Courtney from Santino's (formerly from Ulta). She did it back in September and it was a great cut. And my first (and only) time for professional coloring. I made the mistake in December of going to a different hair dresser who didn't follow Courtney's cut. I ended up with 2 hair cuts a few days apart and months of "growing it out" time. haha

So, last night I dyed my hair to rid it of greys and some orang-iness...then off to Santino's for the first time.

I love, love, love my hair again. Thanks, Courtney! If you go to see her, mention mine name. Three referals and I can get a free hair cut!!

But, saddly, when I went to the busstop, I got less than fantastic reviews. One mom said that she liked my hair better before the cut. And DD of course "liked the front but didn't like the back." And E liked it..but his comliment went sort of like this:

Um, Mom, remember, hey Mom...Remember that DVD that Luke has? THe one with HeMan. Your hair looks like that guy on HeMan. You're hair looks like HeMan's hair cut...just a different color."

LOL..well, not only do I feel prettier, I got a laugh out of everyone's hair comment. (BTW, M* took a pix of me and it didn't turn out very well.)

Tri Fold Cards

Yesterday's TLC challenge was to make a tri fold shutter card. I just love seeing interesting folds on cards. Now that I have my new laptop, I can sit in the art room and review the steps from online tutorials!

This is a great card for fairies and origami paper!

Incidentally, I whipped up a trifold card yesterday morning before Church...to greet the boys when they arrived home from their Father/Son Camping Trip in Ohio. Starving Artistamps' Doodlefactory images are great for paper piecing. Stamp, emboss, trim, glue...presto magic!!!

Although Ken only found out at the very latest moment that he could go, once the boys got to camp, they had a blast with Grandpa and Uncle Jordan. Jordan who teases my kids in fun. Only the fun is going to be on him. By the time his little ones are up and walking about, my kids are going to be teenagers...then we'll see who gets teased! haha. I'm so grateful for strong, thoughtful men who are willing to take time out of work and play to teach the young boys how to grow to be strong men themselves. Next week, the boys are sleeping on a SUBMARINE!! (Yes, DD and I will have to come up with something just as fun to do ourselves.)

CAS and Janet

CAS15: Black, white and one Bold Bright color.

CAS15 with the Corrosive Blog Challenge this week: Let's Rock!

It's a bird, it's a plane...it's a FLAP card!!

Today's DRS Designs' challenge is to create a flap card. There are several ways to make "Flap Cards." I decided to make one based on this Splitcoast tutorial.

You can decorate the inside of these little cards by using the same decorative paper as a border. As for closures, you can use velcro dots, thin magnets, or Zig 2 way glue. It can work like rubber cement. Adhere a small amount in the 2 areas that will touch. Let them air dry. ONLY THEN do you close the card. It creates a repositional sticky spot...sort of like a post it note. Not only is is a lot expensive than paper thin magnets, but you also don't get the bulk that comes with the velcro dots. See, I bet you learned something new today!

PMS...and a color challenge

Paper Makeup Stamps' Designer, Lisa M., wants you to design a card with the following colors:

Pixie Pink
Green Galore
Black

Here's what I did.

(I did add silver and blue. Fairies need those colors!) After you design your card, be sure to use Mr. Linky on the PMS blog so we can all enjoy it! (Keyword PMSMC12)
