Mother's Day 2009

Tomorrow is Mother's Day and I have been a neglectful daughter. Really, I have tried to come up with a gift idea for my mom off and on for several weeks. But alas and alack, nothing has come to mind. Nothing was made. Nothing was bought. I even told my mom several days ago that I didn't have anything to give her. She said she didn't mind but I'm sure she does, a little.

But what can you give the most talented, thoughtful, kind, generous, and patient mother in the world? Nothing I make or buy or do could ever make up for all the time she spent doing things for me, teaching me, praying for me, advising me, thinking about me.

And so, to the cyber world, I now announce:

MY MOTHER IS THE BEST MOTHER IN THE WORLD!

xoxo

PS. I will sometime find something superb to gift to you.

Super Mom

Mom, you're a wonderful mother

So gentle, yet so strong.

The many ways you show you care

Always make me feel I belong.

You're patient when I'm foolish;

You give guidance when I ask;

It seems you can do most anything;

You're the master of every task.

You're a dependable source of comfort;

You're my cushion when I fall.

You help in times of trouble;

You support me whenever I call.

I love you more than you know;

You have my total respect.

If I had my choice of mothers,

You'd be the one I'd select!

Fairy Rustic

Most of my fairies have been pretty and sparkly, so I decided to go earthy and rustic. Thursday's WT challenge was to use Kraft. Fortunately for me, I had a few pieces left!

The red is ruby red...it's a little orangey in the pix. And instead of watercoloring, I used daubers to "dauber in" the color.

Happy No Sock Day!

My kids do not need a holiday to shed their socks...anywhere and everywhere around the house. Today's LSC Fridya challenge was to make a card for one of the un-holidays in the month of May. Today is the official "No Sock Day." I created 3 note cards (2 green, 1 pink) for the kids' pillows.

Next up...a Color Challenge

For this Paper Makeup Stamps Release Challenge (PMSRP05)...Christi chose baja/bashful blue, black and white (with the option of adding grey). Hinged cards are really fun to make and they always seem a little more elegant too. Maybe it's the eyelets and ribbon. Maybe it's b/c I don't make them too often.

This is a great sentiment that you can buy from Paper Makeup Stamps starting today!!

PMS Release Party Challenge #1

On your mark, get set....STAMP!!

It's 8:30pm (CST)...time for the Sketch Challenge for tonight. I just LOVE sketch challenges!!

And this is my favorite fairy released this month!!! I'll be looking forward to seeing the rest of the submissions!

PMS's May Blog Hop and Release!!

Today's the day...when you can hop through all the Design Team Blogs to see more nifty examples from this month's release by Paper Makeup Stamps. This fairy is darling and reminded me of the lazy days of summer which are just around the corner (if I can get through this busy spring).

Here is another example of the same digi stamp.

Did you know that Paper Makeup Stamps sells their products in both digital and rubber formats? Whatever you prefer...be sure to collect all the letters along the blog hop.

My letter...is TA DA....

Yep...Same as the initial of my last name...a B! Now it's time to hop, flutter, stomp or storm on over to Jamie's blog! But be sure you have started from the very beginning on the PMS blog so you can earn a sweet reward for all this hopping! Remember to join us tonight in the PMS forum for some challenges and fun!

Clean and Simple Birthday

CAS...aka Clean and Simple...cards are great for when you don't have much time to stamp...or if you need a card in a hurry. I used this week's CAS layout for my Corrosive Blog Challenge Birthday Themed Challenge card!

Mark your spot with something inky...

That's right! Today's Paper Makeup Stamps challenge was to:

MAKE A BOOKMARK

A few years ago, I had made some book thongs. (My mom loves that term!) Those are great to hold your place in a book; useful and pretty. I had a small piece of shrinky dink. Well, actually (and luckily), I had 2 small pieces. My first attempted bubbled up but I should have left it in the oven longer to flatten out. I tried to heat it up and smash it down. In the end, it just broke in two pieces. So, I pulled out my 2nd sheet and it worked marvelously well.

The fairy hangs down one end, while the bead hangs down the other end. The string going in between, of course. You can upload your creations using PMSMC10 as the keyword.

DRSC20

Today's DRS Designs' challenge is to use your favorite technique. Since watercoloring would probably be my favorite one and I use it all the time, I thought I'd switch it up with something else.

After embossing the praying boy stamp against the large rectangle mosaic, I used daubers to sponge on the colorings. Then, I pressed the entire layer into my versamark pad. Sprinkle clear embossing powder and fire up your heat tool.

Result: A glossy, elegant focal point for your card!

I'm not sure if this technique as an official name. But I'd call it fabulous!

Feel free to join the challenge. Use DRSC20 as your keyword and link it up to the company blog!
