Go BAND, Go!
I heard about this on the radio and then came across it online. Just had to put it on my blog!
Go BAND, Go!
Girl beats off muggers with marching band baton
Thu Apr 30, 2:03 pm ET
QUARTZ HILL, Calif. – Don't mess with the marching band. That's what California authorities are saying after a 17-year-old girl used her marching band baton to beat back two would-be muggers.
Los Angeles County sheriff's Deputy Michael Rust says the Quartz Hill girl was walking to school April 24 when two men approached her from behind, tried to grab her coat and demanded money.
Instead, one got a punch in the nose and the other a kick to the groin. Rust says there's a clear message to take from the encounter:
"The moral to this story is don't mess with the marching band girls, or you just might get what you deserve. Final score: marching band 2, thugs 0."

Mother's Love...
So...
Paper Makeup Stamps is having a charitable fundraiser via this adorable digi fairy stamp. When you buy her, all procedes go to Kayleigh. You can read her story here.
I really struggled with this card yesterday. I mean REALLY struggled. So I finished it up this morning...just in time to find out that the LSC challenge on SCS wasn't up yet. So this card quickly became the example for the LSC218...use stamps to make a border. And since it is May Day, bonus is given to those who use flowers as borders. (haha...sooo easy. Typically, a LSC hostess would have said something like "no flowers on May Day!)

(Those slighly slanted rhinestones were fixed...now to snap another pix for the blog. Though E is dying for pancakes so my motherly duties come first.)
I also designed this card with my mom in mind...for the Corrosive Chalenge Blog (#9). Not sure that I'll give it to my mom b/c I don't think it's her style. But I know she'll love it anyways. B/c she's MY MOM!!

DRS Hippity Hoppity!
It's Thursday! Thanks for hopping on over here to check out my blog and to see a card I designed for the May release of DRS Designs Stamps.
This card uses a new Dustin Pike image!! Isn't Jenny Giraffe adorable?

I used a sizzlit for the green leaves. Paper piercing adds a "little something" to any card without adding weight or cost it. (Think ease in mailing!!) What is your trick for keeping your card flat and light enough for one stamp when mailing? (U.S. Postal rates go up in May...beware!)
Okay, now hop on over to Heather's blog for more great cards and ideas! If you haven't started from the beginning, what are you waiting for? The blog hop starts on DRS Designs' blog page! As with all good blog hops and reveals, there's a sweet reward from some lucky stamper at the end of the hop!
Details of card:
DRS Designs: 859GU, 935FU
Paper: Bashful, Wasabi, Banana, Cocoa, Ruby, DP by

Bday Wishes from DRS Designs
Super NATE!
I made this for our friend down the street who is going to be in his first play this Friday night. He is portraying Uncle Sam...thus the stars, stripes and color combo!
I wanted to make the vertical stripe silver but I don't have any silver CS. I used my versamarker to draw the line, sprinkled with silver EP, then embossed. Super duper stripe!!

DRS Sneaky Peeky!
What a GORGEOUS day we had today!! 80 degrees, very windy...so you didn't feel the heat. I cleaned up some of the woods behind our house, hiked around in the woods with 2 five year olds, did some shopping, practiced the piano a bunch. Just a great, lovely day.
And it is a day for DRS Sneak PEEKS for the upcoming release. I decided to show this card since Deb, my co-guest designer received the girl stamp amd showed a peek of it today on her blog.

I have wanted to try a mosaic stamp for some time now. When this one showed up in my DRS goodie bag, I was a happy stamper! First I stamped the mosaic and boy silhouette in craft ink, embossed it with clear EP, then I used my aquapainter and watercolor crayons to wash on the color over the stamping. (Yes, I originally posted something else...sorry! My memory just got jogged!)
Be sure to come back on Thursday for the DRS Blog Hop! In the mean time, I'm off to fold the laundry that was neglected during the day.

Monday Challenge with PMS
It's Monday again which means a a challenge. This week you are challenged to use this layout on your card.

Here is what I designed:

Instead of a sentiment, I stamped the ferns in versamark. Then they were embossed with clear EP. I didn't mat all the layers for a more simple take on the layout. Here is Sprout's head shot.

I just love having these girls hold new things! It's nearly the end of the month. Which means...May PMS sneak peeks coming soon. I saw them and they are wonderful! Start squirreling away your nickles and dimes. You won't be dismayed!
