Ready, Set, Go!

My turn for challenge hostess came around again today. Admittedly, I take a long time to make my cards. So today's challenge was a personal challenge.

Make a card in 30 minutes. I listed some ways to cut back on the time spent making cards:

1. Take 5-7 minutes to think about a color combo or layout or theme before starting on the actual card.
2. Cut back on layers and embellies.
3. Make a smaller card...haha.
4. Just have fun! Be carefree…and quick!

But I admit, I'm still not that fast! haha. Here is my example card:

Egg-stra! Egg-stra!! Get ready for Easter!!

The sun came out today and I was able to photograph a couple of cards that I made yesterday in better light. I'm going to make a light box I think. I fellow SCSer sent me directions...now all I need is a paper box.

We might now have a golden egg...but your can get pretty close when you emboss these eggs with gold embossing powders!

Oops, I can't forget this fellow who was made for yesterday's WT Challenge on SCS...make an ATC Card. I stick these cards into the kids' and Ken's lunches!

Sickness

We seem to have a cloud of sickness that is just not going away. Today, Ken actually went to the doctor's office. M* called home to be picked up from school. Poor baby E noticed she wasn't on the bus...Told C...but C didn't do anything about it. Needless to say, he was reminded that as the big brother, he needed to be aware if his sister wasn't on the bus and to pipe up and tell the bus driver!! E missed school on Tuesday. I guess I"ll be going to the doc's tomorrow with M...though we were there last Wednesday when it appeared that she had pink eye.

I'm not really sick...but I'm sick of the sickies here. Plus, with Ken home, my stmaping mojo is extinct! I have a few more Starving Artistamp samples to post...but I want better sun to get a better pix before I post them.

Part of this card is acetate for a whimsical see-through effect. Though, there is sill room for writing a message to the recipient. I used the new Doodlefactory Easter set by Starving Artistamps.

DF Easter...

Yesterday's mail arrived with the new DF Easter set from Starving Artistamps. I trimmed it up last night so I would be ready for stamp time today. (Unfortunately, E* is sick and Ken is sick...and working from home. So stamping is going slow.)




I could not resist making this furry fellow into an edible chocolate treat! Yummmy! (Color combo of kiwi, passion pink and chocolate chip was today's challenge combo...not a great combo, in my opinion...but I think the other colors helped a bit!)

This was done for the CAS04 challenge. It is a new Monday challenge that keeps cards "Clean and Simple." While I can go overboard with layers, I love making CAS cards too!

TLC...becoming a fan

I'm really not a fan of techniques...

Oh I love the look of them. But they are involved and messy. But today's TLC challenge was to make an envie card. More of a project than a technique. And I love projects!




A little plain so I did another one...with a cuttlebug folder and primas...



Saturday evening I stamped up a bunch of ATCs for Ken and the kids' lunches. Yesterday I gave several cards out to people at church. Today, I think I will make a pile of thank you cards. You can never have enough thank you cards.
