Just popping in...

Starla mentioned her need to post "be back later" on her blog...and Kim was pleased to have 2 blog posts in one week. haha.

So I figured that I would just pop in. Tonight we went to C*'s Blue and Gold dinner. It was super..super nice, super food, super awards, super entertainment...did I mention super food?

Of course Chef Randy was the chef...

Oh and by the way, he made some delicious steamed/cooked veggies last night for Amy and gave me a bowl! So glad Ken doesn't like mushrooms...so I didn't have to share and he missed out. Oh and M* was absorbed by their massage chair...b/c she would have eated out of my bowl too!

C* earned his Bear badge...several belt loops, pins and arrow heads!

I designed the Appreciation Awards for all of the parent volunteers again this year.

Chartered Rep:
We want to say thank you to a "Sweetart" who keeps things smooth between Good Shepherd and our Pack! (Sweetarts)

Pack Chairperson: For a guy who is juggling so many parts for our pack, a Butterfinger to keep things running smoothly through his fingers. Many Thanks. (Butterfinger candy bar)

Cub Master: For our fearless leader who keeps all the dens in line, here is some extra rope to keep going. (Nerds Rope)

We appreciate all that you do for the boys. You are truly "treasured." (bags of Nestle Treasures)

Hugs and Kisses go out to the women who organized this banquet. Much thanks! (Truffle Kisses)

Souting for Food:
With the help of Jill and Grey, our pack "scored" big as we scoured the neighborhood for food donations. Thank you. (Skor bars)

Summer Camp Coordinator:
While it is still wintery and cloudy here in Michigan, we are showing our gratitude with a sunny treat to keep Amy motivated as she works to set up this year's summer camp details. (Sun Chips)

Event Chair/Activities Coordinator:
Which it comes to fun activities, it's all for one and one for all as the Ulrich Dynamic Duo keeps us scheduled for terrific activities. (3 Musketeers bar)

Newsletter Editor:
This volunteer keeps the newsletter going so we are not "shocked" by last minute details that our boys forget to tell us. Thank you MariBeth! (Shockers Candies)

Attendance at Pack Meetings: This fellow sets the "bar" for uniform standard and punctuality. We are so grateful. (Mr. Goodbar)

Guess I need to think up an idea for next year's awards! In the meantime...get ready. Next Saturday is the Starving Artistamp blog hop! New rubber...which I think you will not want to miss!

Hippity Hoppity!

Whew...I took the kids to school just after 8am...and here it is just after 2pm...and I'm finally home...with warm socks on my feet. I am volunteering in the school library on Thursday Mornings...then I went to C*'s classroom for a bit to work with the kids on their Young Author's books. I had a lot of time inbetween that and helping out in E's class room...so I ate lunch with him...ate some of his lunch. Thanks E! Then...BRRRRRRRRrr...I went outside for recess and stood there freezing. Okay, my feet got cold due to no boots and my face was freezing b/c of the wind. The kids are outside for recess when the weather is 1 degree or higher. I'd call it torture but the kids seemed okay with it. They had made this snow slide...and everyone slowly scooted down on their behinds. Why did I worry about ripped knees? This is surely going to tear out a rear seam!

Then I helped out in E's classroom for a while. When I signed out at the main office, there was only 1 hour left of school. Although I thought about running back to Mck's classroom to see if I could be of assistance...I didn't. And my feet are glad.

As busy I am, I still make time (or try to) for blogging and stamping! Oh, I guess that means I have 2 hobbies. So...Starving Artistamps just announced a BLOG HOP on FEBRUARY 7th! Just over one week away. New RELEASES...fun things to LOOK AT...and FREE STUFF! You never know what...or who...you might see!

I made this piece of decorative art work for my Mom's godparents who need a little cheerin gup right now. It is 5x7 inches and will be in a gold frame. But I thought it would photograph better without the glass/frame and the sparkly stickles are still wet!

I must say, I really need to make something like this for my own house! Stampin Up has a new tree set in the latest catalog. It's really nice...but I have this tree so I will stick with it. As tempting as it is. And, really, this chunky tree is more my style.

Okay, on second thought, this was a thought-activity too!

bee batch bliss

Sometimes, naming these silly cards can be bee-liteful! haha.

So, Ken and C went off to Cubs. E is sick and M must be just about to be sick by the way she was carrying on...so they were tucked into bed before 7pm. I decided to try the whimsy layout again. The wings and beehive are stickle-fied although I don't think it shows up well. I am going to find a good place to take pix in this house when the sun is not shining! Nevertheless, I like the bold black backgrounds that I have been using on some of my recent cards.

Twinkling Waters

This is my submission for the Guest Designer Call by Whimsy stamps. They are a new stamp company that has some delightful animal stamps. Since I don't have any of their stamps yet, I chose an image with a similar style: line drawing, cute animal with character, something I could color in.

And color in I did! This whale needed some glitz so I dug out my twinkling H2Os and gave him some pizazz. In real life, this is a shimmering site to see! Here is a detail:

(Oooh, I hate it when blogger does this to me. Anyone know how to correct these sideways pictures? Last night I tried saving another problematic pix with a new, started a new entry, etc. Okay, just practice your stretching your neck as I search around how to fix this ongoing Blogger problem.)

I usually add stickles to make my cards sparkle. But I think I will be using twinking h20s more often. The Whimsy call is ending soon. Here is a link for the details.

Cleanliness is next to Godliness...

And having a clean computer room is so delightful! Admittedly, this room was becoming a catchall. I would tell my kids repeatedly to put some paper or book or nicknack "next to my computer upstairs." So on Friday when my good friend had to come up here to help the boys on the computer, I took a good look at the cluttered piles of things. Certainly it wasn't horrendous...like the cleaning shows on TV. But compared to the rest of the house, it was not good.

I took some time to clean it up yesterday. (Granted I have a laundry basket full of papers and files that need to be gone through and then purged, merged and shreaded.) This morning when I walked into the room to print of something for church, it was light and airy and calm.

Aaaah...I might even spend MORE time at my desk. :)

Or...roll up my sleeves and tackle the next "hot spot" in the house...M*'s room. (Which I have been putting off for a couple of weeks.)

(And yes WALL-E was the dumbest Pixar movie I have seen! But this is the best pix I found under "cleanliness is next to Godliness" in a google search.)
