A goal completed!!

Here is my 5th card this week. And with that, I have completed my 5 weekday challenge goal! Hip Hip Hurray!

Today's challenge card took a bit too long b/c I was on the phone with my mom. I never craft very well when I"m chatting. (But that's okay. It's fun to talk with mom!)

Yesterday, I went to pick up Evan from a friend's house. There were 3 kindergarteners and one little sibling there. And guess what they were doing. PLAYING "Red Rover, Red Rover!!" Yes! I've influenced the next generation of kids. haha.

Ken and I went to lunch at Applebee's. He was smart enough to choose something off of the main menu. I tried on of their "Two for $5.99" lunch specials. And well, I knew that the portions would be smaller...but wow...there was barely any food on my plate. Now, he's checking his email and then we'll run to Coldstone Creamery for some icecream. My grandfather gave us a gift card 2 Christmases ago...which we haven't used yet. (Luckily for us, this company doesn't take money off the balance if it sits for a while.)

I hope I can pick something out. The last time we went in there, we were so shocked by the prices and choices, that we walked right back out!

Thursday's card

A quickie today b/c I had to take M* to the doctor's office. She has a bladder infection. Boy was she embarassed talking to the doctor. The nurses had a hard time finding her pulse. So I joked that she was DEAD! BUT...she got a happy meal for lunch since her school lunch is at 10:30. We arrived back at school just as her recess was over. So then I went to E's lunch and recess. He was delighted. I taught the kindergarteners how to play Red Rover, Red Rover. (Kids these days do not know how to play run around fun games!) We started off with 6 kids (barely enough). By and by, many of the kindergarteners were standing in two lines, playing. Amazingly enough, all the kids broke through, each run. Guess they don't have strong grips!

Then I had recess/lunch with C* and the 3rd graders. We started off playing "funnel ball" with another girl. But she couldnot make any baskets so I suggested 4 square. And those kids have the strangest way of playing Four Square. I'm going to have to google the directions for future reference!

I zipped out a fast card for today's "use a monogram" challenge.

HUMP DAY

It's Hump Day on my 5 weekday challege goal...and this one was executed rather quickly. Which is surprising b/c I am not one to offset panels.

Anyways. My CoLeader (for Brownies) has a sick daughter and I have to step up and run/lead/do the meeting. I wasn't planning on doing it so I will be scurrying to get things done...and take E and his friend to the library. But it all works out b/c I need a few library books for the meeting. Is that Serendipity?

Also...My yogini friend invited me to go jogging with her yesterday. So I got some exercising in...and luckily her little one was on the bike along with us. He's not hard to keep up with! haha. Baby steps, baby steps!

Color Combo Tuesday

Today's color combo challenge using kiwi, chocolatehip and tangerine...I added garden green to give some more interest to the card. And after I glued down the pieces, I sure wish taht I had sponged the pumpkin with ruby red...wonder if I can slide a paper in there and still do it!

Out of the groove...

But...my 5 challenges this week should be helpful.

Today's TLC was to make this mini pizza box. I wanted to try my hand at the "Sweedish Collage style." Yes, it definitely needs a word of some sort. Probably stamped on the right side...down the edge? Not sure...acetate maybe? so the word is there but not disruptive to the overall pix?

Post your opinions and let me know.

Dawnmercedes....Featured Artist

A stamper/blogger named Joy has asked me to be a guest artist on her blog once a month. Here is the link to my first card on her blog.

Goals for this week...

Today is Sunday...and I'm going to WRITE down some GOALS for the week....

1. Sew M*'s cheerleading costume....

2. Do the five week day SCS card challenges

3. Exercise when Ken doesn't take his morning work calls at our house.

There...three goals...and the entire web to be my witness...

Now to see if they get done! (Though I can't stamp or exercise when Ken is around...so this may prove more difficult than I thought!)

New 'Do!

A couple of Fridays ago, I went and got my hair cut. Ooh, I just love having a stylish hair do. It short in the back and long in the front. Ken didn't like it and neither did M* But Co* is true to his mother and loves it.

(Again, once in awhile Blogger turns my pix sideways...just stretch your neck to the left! haha)

Over the last few weeks, several friends from one place or another have gotten haircuts which have turned out really nice. I would ask them, "Where did you get your hair cut?" The reply was "Courtney from Ulta." Well, after a few of these responses, I decided I needed to see "Courtney from Ulta."

This was the first time I have ever gotten my hair colored and highlighted from a professional. And boy is it nice! She cut off all the dead ends and the color is really lovely. Worth the pretty penny it cost...AND the hair cut was FREE b/c I was a new client. haha.

Not only that, I have been passing around Courtney's name. And another neighbor friend of mine went and saw her last week. Guess Courtney has a fan club. Or else she needs to be giving my street a discount!

Soccer Star...

Yesterday, E* scored another goal during our Wild Cat soccer game. I am amazed at how he has stepped up his playing this season. He gets at least one goal every game (just about.) Ken takes C* to his games since E and I are on another field at the other end of town. It's no problem...except then I don't really get any pix of E* playing. I'll see if I can get some pix from Ken to post on my bloggaroo!
