peek a boo egg...
I had this idea as soon as I saw the challenge to make a window in your card today. Unfortunately, I'm embellishment unsavvy...and I fussy around with the details too long. Then I decided that it needed to be on the purple layer. So I had to rearrange things again.

A COMPLETE Lunar Eclipse tonight
Wow WEE!
It is still going on and it is impressively amazing. My mom would have loved to be here to see it in these crystal clear skies that we are blessed with tonight. I've spent the last 2+ hours running upstairs, downstairs, down to the basement where we have sliding glass doors (walkout)...then back up to check on some computer sites, back down and up again.

We saw the moon as it was becoming a complete eclipse. Tried waking up M and C...M got up reluctantly and rather for a very short period of time. C got up slowly and was up for a while. I don't know why he's tired tonight of all nights! Even Ken has gone to bed an hour earlier than normal. E was up until a few minutes ago. But he's 4 and it's nearly midnight.
Moon update: 3/4 of the way out of the eclipse!
And ooh the stars that were visible tonight! Constellations...Cassiopia, Orion, Sirius, Big Dipper...this other Y looking one which I know I saw on some website earlier... Oh, I think it is the horns from Tarus!
Moon update: still a bite or so left...and about 20 more mintues left in the eclipse!
**Now I know why my mom and dad would wake us up for eclipses! wowee!
Google Earth had some sort of thing set up with another program so you could see the night sky from your location. But I couldn't it to work. I was hoping to see the blue/green lights that sometimes come with eclipses...but didn't. The red moon was awesome though!

I wonder if a lot of babies are being born tonight....
So glad the moon has moved. Now I can run to the front door to see it. Instead of going to the basement or balcony which is in the back of the house.
Oh Mom...you really missed a great show tonight!
4 more minutes...at there is only a sliver left in the shadow...
Wait...2 more minutes...I'm heading back into the cold to see it!

Ohoh!
As soon as M* came home from school today, I noticed she had a different pair of pants on than what she wore to school. Turns out, she sat down on the carpet with her class and...RIP...the ripped back to front on the seam. Totally ruined them. (They had this triple seam.) So she was sent down to the office by the student teacher. I asked her how she got down there with a big hole. She said she just covered her bottom with her hands and walked down to the office by herself. I exclained that the pants were way too long for her. She replied, "I was lucky. These are brand new pants they just brought to school. All the other pants would have been too short!"
Good thing the office is prepared for such emergencies!

How I'm Irish...
Here is the story of how I'm Irish.
When I was in college, my sisters were in high school...and every March month, they'd want to dress up in the green and wear "Kiss me I'm Irish" buttons to school...even though they "weren't Irish." About that time, my dad came into possession of a family history book that linked us to the Green Isle. Turns out there was this family who was very poor. So very poor that they only owned a goat. When that goat died, they left their naitive land to come to America. (Do I need to add "Far...we've been traveling far...Without a home, but not without a star...Free! Only want to be free! We huddle close hang onto a dream. Okay, okay...I'll save that song for the 4th of July or something!)

So the goat died and they came to America. My younger sisters could truthfully wear buttons on St. Patty's day...AND be legitimately kissed! haha.
I'm glad we are Irish b/c that makes our playful fairies and such even more relevant! haha.
Top O the Morning to You!
Just getting ready for St. Patty's day...like the new template? hehe.
But while we wait, here are some Christmas cards that I designed over the weekend. I'm behind in the "10 a month challenge." Mostly b/c I don't want to make 10 of the same card. So here I've made 2 of each. (Though the Moose was cute enough for me to make 4!)

Last night I made a few of these "PickUp" cards. Pull the ribbon and the truck moves across the card. They will be for some friends and family who have recently undergone surgeries.

Not so glorious Sabbath
I'm in a black mood. Not only do I have to battle dementors all weekend, I have to battle inconsiderate people too.
We left for church today, battled the icy, rainy roads only to pull into the church parking lot and be told that church was canceled. This happens each and every time. We are lucky if we are only walking out the door when we get a phone call. Seriously, there are people who come to late each and every Sunday, without fail.
I direct the music in church and we are always there early. ALWAYS. Why can't someone call us earlier? The late comers should be notified last. Plus, it only makes sense to leave a little earlier if weather conditions are bad. Though today, we left at about our usual time. I just wish people were more thoughtful.
Then, coming home, Ken decided that he would take some "main roads so that we didn't have to cut through the subdivision next to the chapel." Well...turns out his "main roads" were all the roads that took us south to the highway...he didn't just go around the subdivision. The trip was longer and more dangerous.
AND THEN, we skidded past our house/driveway...down the street. I said we'd get stuck if Ken went into the cul de sac...and we did. So, he backed up and around and I told the kids to start praying. Slowly, we made our way back to our house. Luckily, not skidding into any parked cars on the street.
I sure hope I get a bunch of extra blessings for that trip. I certainly need them.
