Two wins and a loss...

This weekend was a super big garage time in the area. I pulled out some unused toys from the basement. I sold 2 things and made $17.00. Not too bad...Only problem, one of the things sold was the Little Tykes shopping cart, which I really didn't want to sell. I pulled it out b/c I was trying to sell the kitchen that didn't sell. But DS#3 wants to play with it now. So maybe not all is lost.

But on to the wins. I went to this one garage sale and they had a bunch of post-it note pads with a little Corvette emblem in the upper left. My great aunt and great uncle and their son and DIL race Corvettes. So I picked up a bunch for them...and me. Then the man of the house doubled the amount of pads for the same price. It pays to be chatty.

My loss...one sapphire earring. Probably lost at the same house/garage sale. Looked around for it with the help of the woman there. Even went back tonight and searched up and down the sidewalk/grass. No luck! So if you find the match to this earring, you get a prize!! (Usually, when I lose something, I can offer a prize to the kids. Then I end up finding it myself. hehe.)

One more win to tell you about. Yesterday when I dragged up a bag of unused toys and "treasures" for the garage sale, I came across a pile of Pogs. Those silly cardboard disks that were probably the dumbest and shortest fads of the 90s. So instead of getting thrown in the "Free" box, these Pogs are in a pile next to my monitor. Just as I was about to write this entry, I realized, those pogs could be used as chipboard...no, wait...it's coming...I can use those precut, chipboard circles and make the large clippies! Yes. Another frugal idea to keep me crafting!

So, I am not sure if today's score is really 2-1. I guess I'll have to buy another set of sapphire earrings in the future some day. While I wait, I'll just make scores of giant clippies and post-it note holders!

Hmmmmmmmmm...

This was a hard test for me to decide my answers. Maybe I need to go back to bed.

You Belong in 1993

With you anything goes! You're grunge one day, ghetto fabulous the next. It's all good!

Double challenge...

It's been 2 and a half weeks since I have done any of the daily challenges on SCS. I've stamped a bit...not much. But no challenges. The sketch challenges, posted on Wednesdays, have always been my favorite challenge. I ended up making 3 cards using today's layout. Here is one of them:

I was excited to find the black stickles at a craft store in Ohio with my mom last weekend for $1.49. Nice price! To see the rest of today's creations, go to my Splitcoast Gallery. (Yesterday's color challenge was to use pinks. Thus, this became a double challenge. The pinks I chose were: ruby red, cameo coral and blush blossom.)

News to Report!! News to Report!!

After a blah entry yesterday...here is our news!

We are going to WICKED (again). I can not wait. And we get to take #1 and #2!!! DH took me last year and we LOVED it. My DD loves the Wizard of Oz. We love to dance and sing to the Wicked sound track. The music is great for car trips and while I do the dishes. Oh...I can not wait!

Nothing new to report...

Nothing new to report. Since I put a subscription option on my blog, I thought you guys wanted to read something from me today.

Weather...turned cold..nonstop rain.

Started some Mother's Day cards for the Mother's Day Stalker Challenge. Still haven't stamped a challenge card in over 2 weeks! Yikes.

Cooked dinner for a friend who just came home from the hospital with a new baby. What a way to celebrate May Day!! To bring home a new life into their family/home.

I did get to the postoffice to mail Linda SS her blog candy winnings. So all you out there in the blogosphere...sorry, the prize was claimed! I'll put up another one. Contests are so fun. So is getting fun mail. Actually, I mailed a lot of stuff out today...To a lot of countries...US, Canada, Singapore, England and Australia. How cool is that!

I've been busy with getting the new DSS round started on SCS.

With that, I'll publish this entry, sweep up the rice that #3 scattered on the floor and make some chocolate chip cookies! (Oh yeah, and go see why all 3 kids had to go out into the mushy grass to get something out of the woods!)

Blog Candy Prize....

Here is the Prize for Linda SS...

Two large Background/Shape stamps...One is an oval (about 3.25 inches long)...the other is a rectangle ( about 2x3.5 inches). And a big box of colored paper clips to give your cards a funky style!

So if Linda doesn't get back to me in the next day or so, I'll have to redraw!

Suessical the Musical

I've been out of town for a few days...missed me? I certainly missed some of your blogs!

My parents invited us down for a great show...Suessical the Musical. After listening to the soundtrack for YEARS...it was so great to see the production. If you haven't heard it...go borrow it from your library. I tried counting the number of Suess stories that are referenced in the show. I got to 11...but I think I'll do a google search and see if I missed any!
